More progress on 18000. Another coat of primer is required and then it's on to the job of treating the areas of corrosion on the body and filling the various holes.

More progress on 18000. Won't be long until all the corroded areas have been treated and paint can be applied.

Old bricks disposed of. Note the orangey coating which comes from years of being above a raging hot fire!

These will be broken up and used as fill elsewhere on site.

Work on 18000 continued today. Centre curve panel, which had rotted through taken off and rust removed from all exposed area. Protection with either bitumastic paint (black) and MI paint (silver) applied ready for the fitting of new curved panels.

Another busy few days, which has seen a number of engines cleaned and the start of a deep clean of the wheels and frames of 2999.

Work on 18000 has continued but has been hampered somewhat by the poor weather.
