SOFEA

SOFEA We work with young people to build their life skills, and distribute food with our partner FareShare Contact us: [email protected]

SOFEA was founded in 2014, with the focus of enabling people to transform their lives. We are a charity head quartered in Didcot with a second location added in Milton Keynes. Using surplus food, we distribute to thousands of people per week, across our local communities. We work with disadvantaged people, (mostly young people) helping them gain qualifications in English and Math, providing work e

xperience and offering wellbeing support. Please feel free to contact us if you would like to find out further information on how you can support us. We offer corporate volunteering days, and various fund-raising events throughout the year.

It was fantastic to welcome volunteers from Amazon Web Services to our FareShare and Felix food redistribution warehouse in Didcot at SOFEA, and we are very grateful for the time you dedicated to supporting us!

Your role in preparing food parcels for our beneficiaries made a significant difference on the day. By contributing to the handling and redistribution of surplus stock, you helped ensure that good quality food could be passed on efficiently to our larders and community partners, supporting people who rely on these services.

We truly appreciate the energy, teamwork and positive attitude you brought with you. Support like yours allows us to reach more people while reducing food waste.

We hope the day was enjoyable and rewarding, and we would love to welcome you back to SOFEA!

☕️ We were delighted to be part of the JDE Peet’s Community Coffee Academy pilot, delivered by JDE Peet’s and in partnership with FareShareUK.

Through this opportunity, 5 young people supported by SOFEA took part in a hands-on barista training day at the Coffee Experience Centre in Maidenhead, gaining insight into the coffee industry and learning practical, workplace ready skills.

At SOFEA, we know how powerful experiences like this can be. They help young people prepare for their future by building employability skills, growing confidence and showing them what is possible.

A huge thank you to JDE Peet’s and FareShare UK for making this pilot programme happen and for investing in young people at such an important stage of their journey!
