🎉 Five years. 88 grants. Over half a million pounds. Nearly 27,000 local beneficiaries. 🎉

As we mark our fifth year of grant giving, we are celebrating what local giving has made possible across Didcot and the Greater Didcot area.

Over five years, the Didcot Powerhouse Fund has awarded 88 grants totalling £515,000, more than half a million pounds supporting local charities, community groups and the people they help. Across that time, Powerhouse funding has directly impacted an estimated 26,927 local beneficiaries.

This year’s total of £132,000 is our highest annual award yet, a powerful reflection of what can be achieved when donors come together to support local people and local communities.

🙏Thank you to every donor, supporter and organisation that has been part of the journey so far.

Please help us celebrate five years of impact by liking, commenting and sharing this post.

We've been working on a local flood plan, and we'll eventually create a flyer that people in Didcot can use to know who to call and what to do in the case of a flood. It has been interesting to realise how little we know about what to do...

What would be your first actions if your home flooded? Who would you call? Where might you go?
We'd love to hear your thoughts, as we want to create a document useful for everyone.

What we've also learnt is that many maps seem to lack data, and even the government website shows no flood risk zones! Here's the best we've spotted so far, but it still focuses on where has already flooded, and even says that it only focuses on a single postcode in Didcot.

🎉 Our biggest annual grant round yet totalling £132,000!

We are delighted to announce the 18 charities and community groups receiving The Didcot Powerhouse Fund grants in 2026, helping us power a healthier Didcot and support local people across Greater Didcot.

This year’s funding includes five organisations receiving a Powerhouse grant for the first time. A big welcome and congratulations to Cycling Without Age Didcot - CWAD, Bee N Spired CIC, Aureus School Parents & Carers Association, Friends of Sutton Courtenay Primary C of E School and Oxfordshire Discovery College.

We are also proud to continue our support for All Yours Period Box, ARCh - Assisted Reading for Children Oxfordshire, Bright Sparks Science, Didcot Baby Monday, The Dorcas Dress Project, Home-Start Southern Oxfordshire, Justice in Motion, OXPIP, Quest for Learning, Survivor Space Oxfordshire, Sustainable Didcot, The Cornermen and TRAIN - Inspiring Young People.

Together, these 18 grants reflect the breadth of support needed in our community, from young people’s mental health, reading and school support to support for new parents, men’s mental health, specialist help for survivors, reducing loneliness for older residents and more.

👏 Congratulations to every organisation receiving funding this year. We look forward to supporting your work in the coming year and seeing the difference these projects make for local people.

This is a fantastic milestone for our 2026 grants programme, and soon we will also be sharing the bigger picture of what five years of local giving has made possible across Greater Didcot.

💜 Please join us in congratulating this year’s recipients, and share this post so more people can celebrate the impact being made across our community.

We'd like to say a 🌟huge 🌟 thank you to The Didcot Powerhouse Fund for awarding us a grant for our home-visiting volunteer support across the Didcot Area of Influence! 💜😁

Now in it's fifth year of grants, Powerhouse has made 89 grants to the local community totalling £151,000! We're so grateful to be one of the organisations chosen to benefit, this funding will enable us to continue supporting families during the Early Years!

The Didcot Powerhouse Fund was started by local volunteers to help tackle inequality in the wider area of Didcot and the surrounding villages. Powerhouse provides annual grants to charities and community groups that are supporting the local community and meet the Fund’s published criteria.

We’re delighted to be able to share that we are a 2026 Powerhouse grant recipient.

This funding will enable us to continue delivering our Big Feelings programme in Didcot schools, providing early mental health support for children, and to develop new resources for parents and supportive adults to extend this support at home.

Thank you to Powerhouse and the volunteers who make this possible, supporting local organisations to strengthen community wellbeing.

If you care about your local community in Didcot and want to see the difference local giving can make, we would love you to join us.

📆 Tuesday 14 April, from 5.30pm to 7.30pm at Cornerstone Arts Centre for the Didcot Powerhouse Fund Impact Celebration.

This free event is an opportunity to hear directly from the charities and community groups that received grants in 2025 from the Didcot Powerhouse Fund, and to see the impact of that support over the past year.

You can meet the leaders behind these organisations, and some of the people whose lives have been directly impacted by their work.

There is no hard sell and no pressure to donate - we promise! This is simply an open invitation to discover more, ask questions, make connections and celebrate the incredible work happening in our community. The presentation will help fill in any gaps after the open networking.

This is also a perfect chance to grab a copy of our Impact Report 2025. This is a celebration of five years of the fund and the impact over the last year across the 14 charities and organisations that received a grant.

Refreshments will be available, along with the opportunity to chat to grant recipients, supporters and some of our fabulous donors who help make this work possible. 🙏
