The Whole Autism Family was formed in October 2014, by parents who wanted to build a better future for their children. We are a completely voluntary support group, with all money we raise as group going directly into supporting families affected by autism. We take great pride in knowing that we have created a fantastic support network, offering access to literature, training courses and profession

al guests. The support group is accessible by the whole family, from individuals affected by autism, siblings, parents and carers to extended family members, greatly reducing the isolation felt by many. We are a community of family members and friends dedicated to supporting the whole family on their autism journey.

What is World Mental Health Awareness Day and why does it matter?
Mental Health Awareness is an Global event encouraging others to start conversations about mental health. A day of reflection where we raise awareness for learning to understand ourselves better. A day of reflection and TRUE self love ❤️.A great reminder to make your mental health a priority. Not only today, but every day.

So a Question for you all .
Are you Surviving or Thriving?
We all have mental health, just as we all have physical health. Mental ill health can strike at any time and can affect people from all walks of life.
Although things are improving, stigma still exists around mental ill health.
As a society, we don't tend to know how to take care of our mental health like we do our physical health. This means that people may not know how to support a friend, family member or colleague experiencing a mental health issue, or where to go for support with their own Mental Health.

Good Mental Health is more than the absence of a mental health issue. The focus is to look at Mental health from a new angle – rather than asking why so many people are living with Mental Health issues, the aim is to uncover why too few of us are thriving with good Mental Health.

Firstly I want to say it vital that we continue to be more aware of our own Mental Health and the Mental Health of those around us.

If you find yourself struggling, your not alone, and that’s okay.
We as humans are always going to experience bad and good days, but it’s how we deal with these challenges that really matter, knowing what works for you ,will help during these difficult times .
Anxiety is a normal function and part of being a human if you bump your leg or body your body reacts with a bruise to help repair the damaged spot.
If you are stressed and overwhelmed
not eating a balanced diet
in a stressful environment
having many struggles
not moving
not connecting with the real world
Focusing on I am anxiety, I’ve got anxiety etc .
Your body reacts to all the signals that you are saying your health and my well-being is in danger it reacts to the stress responses this is allowed to tell you we’re not okay, we may get sic , this then depletes your reserves.
To help reduce the response
Don’t focus on the anxiety, tackle on the cause with refocus .
Look for the happiness within life . This helps to refocus away from the negative thoughts patterns and helps you see the things to be grateful for.
Be kind to yourself
Tell yourself I’m not here to please others .
I was born to be here
I am amazing
I am still growing
whatever has happened in the past I can create the future I want
emotions are normal, accept them, let them out ,they will pass .
Be kind to your body, eat a healthy balanced diet . We have all heard you are what you eat . This is true when we choose healthy options we feel healthier.
I know it takes a lot of courage and strength to open up and talk about your struggles .
I used to think I should be able to handle everything on my one no matter how hard and if I couldn’t I’d feel like a failure.
By not talking, I’m stronger right !?
But the reality is sometimes we all need a helping hand, a shoulder to cry on or someone to simply listen .
So , I want to encourage you all to start talking. Each time we talk about how we feel it gets a little bit easier.
Please don’t be embarrassed and please don’t feel like you failed because I promise you you’re not the first person to be affect like this and you certainly won’t be the last.
There are people out there to help you and to want to listen .
Remember you are strong ,you are brave and most importantly you can do this .
💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚
I’m here if you need to talk or just want someone to listen or if your concerned about any individual.
