A heartfelt thank‑you to our incredible US Ambassador, Paris, whose voluntary efforts have amplified the voice and visibility of Moonlight Trust across the United States. Her journey began volunteering in refugee camps alongside Noushin, and over the last decade, she has become a powerful advocate for the causes we champion.
This event brings people together to honour the extraordinary talent of Gustavo, whose own family has experienced displacement. Today, he is a renowned designer with celebrities wearing his creations — a true role model for anyone who dares to dream big and rise above adversity. It is a celebration of culture, creativity, and community.

Gustavo’s Story — From Kinshasa to the World
What began as a young man’s dream on the streets of Kinshasa has grown into something far bigger than fashion. Gustavo Apiti carried his heritage across continents, arriving in Seattle with a suitcase of ideas and an unshakeable belief that clothing could be a bridge — between cultures, between strangers, between past and future.
Over the last decade, he has built not just a brand, but a living testament to resilience, artistry, and belonging. His designs draw from the bold geometric traditions of Central Africa, reimagined for a city where cultures meet and new stories are written every day.
