🌟 Celebrating Dietitians Week! 🌟

As Dietitians Week comes to an end, we want to say a big thank you to all the amazing dietitians who support people with learning disabilities every day πŸ’™

βœ… Why are dietitians important?
People with learning disabilities can sometimes have extra health and food needs. Dietitians help by:
🍎 Supporting healthy eating
πŸ₯€ Making sure people get the right nutrition
πŸ§ƒ Helping with eating and drinking difficulties
βš–οΈ Supporting people to manage their weight safely
πŸ‘©β€βš•οΈ Giving advice to families and staff

βœ… What difference do they make?
Dietitians help people:
πŸ™‚ Stay healthy
πŸ’ͺ Have more energy
🍽 Enjoy food safely
❀️ Live a better quality of life
πŸ‘‰ Think you or someone you support could benefit?

Please remember that we have a dietician in our team so if you feel you need their support please contact us to make a referral.

πŸ‘ Thank you dietitians!

Your knowledge, care, and support make a real difference every day.

Let’s celebrate the important work you do β€” not just this week, but all year round! πŸŽ‰

🌑️ Stay Safe in the Heat 🌑️
With the temperatures rising, it’s really important to look after your health.

Please remember to stay well hydrated by drinking plenty of water throughout the day, wear light and breathable clothing, and protect yourself from the sun.

Try to avoid staying out in the heat for long periods, and don’t forget to check in on family, friends, and vulnerable members of the community.

Let’s all take care of ourselves and each other πŸ’›

πŸ“’ Did you know that we accept referrals for Autism diagnosis πŸ“’

We want to let people know that we have an Autism diagnostic pathway for people with a learning disability.

Getting the right diagnosis can help individuals better understand themselves and access the right support, adjustments, and services to meet their needs.
If you are:
βœ… An individual with a learning disability
βœ… Struggle to have your needs met by mainstream services
βœ… A professional supporting someone who thinks may benefit from an assessment

Please speak to your GP or health professional about making a referral.

Early identification and understanding can make a real difference πŸ’™

πŸŽ‰ A huge THANK YOU to our Kirklees Strategic Health team! πŸŽ‰

We’re proud to celebrate an amazing achievement β€” almost 80% of eligible people in Kirklees have now had their annual health check between the 1st April 2025 & 31st March 2026.
This is a fantastic result and shows what’s possible when we work together to support good health and wellbeing across our communities πŸ’™

πŸ’‘ Why are annual learning disability health checks so important?
They help people to:
βœ… Spot health problems early, before they become serious
βœ… Improve overall health and quality of life
βœ… Get the most from GP and local health services
βœ… Talk about any health worries and get the right support and guidance

πŸ“’ Reminder: If you have a learning disability, you are entitled to a FREE annual health check with your GP. These checks make a real difference and can help you stay healthier for longer.

πŸ“ž Contact your GP practice today to book your learning disability health check.

Let’s keep building on this success and make sure no one misses out πŸ‘

πŸ™βœ¨ Holy Thursday Blessings βœ¨πŸ™

Today we begin the sacred Easter Triduum with Holy Thursday, a day that invites us to remember two powerful moments:

🌿 The Last Supper, where Jesus shared bread and wine with His disciples and gave the gift of the Eucharist.

πŸ’œ The Washing of the Feet, a profound symbol of humility, service, and love.

Holy Thursday reminds us of the importance of compassion, selflessness, and caring for one another β€” just as Jesus showed us.

As we enter into these holy days, may our hearts be open to grace, gratitude, and reflection.
Wishing everyone a peaceful and blessed Holy Thursday. βœοΈπŸ’œ

πŸ•―οΈβœ‘οΈ Happy Passover! βœ‘οΈπŸ•―οΈ

Wishing a joyful and meaningful Passover (Pesach) to everyone celebrating!

Passover is a special time that commemorates the Exodus, when the Jewish people were freed from slavery in Egypt. It’s a celebration of freedom, faith, resilience, and hope β€” values that continue to inspire today.

As families and friends gather around the Seder table, share traditions, and retell the story of liberation, may this season bring:
✨ Peace
✨ Blessings
✨ Togetherness
✨ And renewed gratitude

To all who observe:
Chag Pesach Sameach!

May your holiday be filled with light, love, and freedom. πŸŒΈπŸ’«

πŸ’™πŸ§© World Autism Awareness Day – April 2nd πŸ§©πŸ’™

Today we take time to recognise and celebrate the incredible strengths, talents, and perspectives of people with autism.
World Autism Awareness Day is all about promoting understanding, acceptance, and creating a world where everyone feels valued and included.

Autism is a spectrum β€” and every autistic person has their own unique way of experiencing and interacting with the world.
By listening, learning, and embracing differences, we help build communities that are more compassionate and supportive for all.

Let’s shine a light on:
✨ Acceptance
✨ Inclusion
✨ Kindness
✨ Understanding
✨ Respect

To all autistic individuals and their families β€” your voices, experiences, and contributions make the world brighter.

πŸ’™ Happy World Autism Awareness Day! πŸ’™
Let’s keep spreading awareness today and every day.
