Apologise, but we cancelling our coastal charity walk this Saturday due to personal reasons but we are busy prepping for future events. As you may know it's only me running H4H and its a lot of planning to organise these events alongside working full time and spending quality time with mum and lots of medical appointments. We are all so thankful for the support especially with my run at the end of year. I hope you will join us next year for our charity walk and football match.

If you’re missing your Sunday football fix then come and join us at Plymstock School tomorrow morning for our annual charity game for a brilliant cause Hike4happiness💙

Many Rovers personnel will be participating on either side, for a game that will be played in high spirits but still have that competitive edge 👊 as both teams will be looking for bragging rights for the next 12 months.

This charity is one very close to the heart of the club and we would appreciate as much support as possible ❤️

If you are in attendance, donations can be made on the day via cash, along with a Cake sale 🎂 and donations can be made to the following Just Giving page.

Hi, I thought I’d introduce myself again my name is Millie and I’ve run hike4happiness since 2021. It originally started when I signed up to do a charity trek in Iceland for Parkinson’s UK which my mum was diagnosed with in 2017, I wanted to use this page to track my training and help spread awareness and raise money.
I started hosting events to bring people together and it’s grown into a wonderful community. I was sharing every aspect of mine and my mums journey when in October 2023 our family broke down and my mum was readmitted to hospital and diagnosed with MSA. The last year and a half has been a challenge, I’ve struggled to come to terms with it all and have put all my time and energy into mum.
I’m now 26 and feeling a little lost, I’ve struggled with anxiety from a very young age but was diagnosed with depression in 2020 after suffering for a long time. Life is crazy busy, I live in a barn in the middle of the countryside with my boyfriend, we have 3 dogs, 8 chickens and 60,000 bee’s. I am a self employed textile designer which gives me freedom. My mum is currently in a nursing home, we see her everyday. I love to run, bake and read, but most of all I love being home.
I’m at a stage in life where I’m feeling behind, I don’t know what my purpose is. I’ve realised being outside is healing for me so I’m here to promote being outside, go on that UK adventure, hike that tor, sit in that sun and appreciate the fresh air.

What does 2025 have in store for H4H?
With event ideas flying around my head I’ve decided to dedicate this year to my biggest challenge yet at the end of the year running 8 miles for 8 consecutive days in 8 UK cities all for 🧡 I will continue to host a charity walk and football match with more information on that soon.
I’d love to hear some more ideas and if you’d like to team up with to host some outdoor events?

Hike4happiness is for my mum, a place I hope everyone can feel safe to talk🤍

Hi, it’s me.
Taken my usual break from H4H whilst I figure out the next step in 2025 for me. I’ve decided I need to do something, have a goal, have a reason. So after lots of thinking and planning I will be running 8 miles every day for 8 days in 8 cities in the Uk. That is 64 miles in 8 days!!!
I will add the link to my bio to read more about my story, thoughts and why I feel I need to do something.

I remember when my mum started to not feel well, our little Jack Russel Badger would not leave my mums side, when we got Olive our Irish terrier 5 years ago she has always been calm around mum too unlike the rest of us. When mum had her first seizure Olive was right in the way trying to be with mum, she knew something was wrong. We got Eric our Spangold last November, with mum not living with us I questioned how Eric would be with mum, I didn’t want him jumping at her and hurting her. Mum was in hospital at the time and they were really encouraging with us bringing our little puppy into hospital to see mum. Eric spent his first few months with us lying on hospital beds and being a little therapy bed. He was good as gold. Even now with mum they are carful, they always choose to go to mum and sit with her. I think they can all sense she’s not well, dogs really can be a best friend through a hard time. I know when we take the Olive and Eric to see mum it always makes her smile.

Feeling lucky to have so much support around us, another successful H4H event. Weve raised an incredible amount of money for and hope we’ve made others aware of this awful disease. Thank you everyone. Thank you to all the players, ref, spectators, photographers, everyone who baked a cake, supported us and donated to a worthy cause. I’m hoping this will become an annual event, all for my lovely mum🧡💙
