18 March, 2026

The Trustees are very pleased to announce that Julia Hunt-Grubbe has

accepted our invitation to become Patron of The Patch in Potterne.

Together with her husband, the late Robert Hunt-Grubbe, she has been

an ardent supporter of converting The Old School into a multi-use space

for community benefit.

Julia said: "I am delighted to become Patron of The Patch. One of my

passions is for education, and I look forward to seeing people of all ages

and backgrounds benefitting from everything The Patch has to offer."

THE PATCH IS NOW A CHARITY

17 November, 2025

We are delighted to announce the Charity Commission

has accepted our application to become a charity,

and given us the Registered Charity No 1215793.

The Patch is thus no longer the community interest

company whose members recently approved the

proposed conversion to charity status. Former CIC

members are warmly invited to become "Friends of

The Patch".

Friends of The Patch

Some villagers have asked whether we could set up a

Friends of The Patch group. Members could make

monthly contributions towards our running costs, and in

return we would offer member benefits. If you would

like to contribute, or simply wish to find out more,

please do not hesitate to get in touch.

£2,500 AREA BOARD GRANT
July 1, 2025

Devizes Area Board have just approved a fantastic £2,500 grant to The Patch. This is excellent news, and the award is greatly appreciated.

Our warmest thanks go to the Area Board members, whose generous grant will enable us to install fire doors and upgrade the toilet facilities - essential work and one step closer to providing a multi-use space for community benefit.

At the CIC's June AGM our members unanimously voted for The Patch to become a charity, and to adopt the proposed constitution of a Charity Incorporated Organisation (CIO). Click the link below to read the proposed constitution in full.

If our application is accepted, the Charity Commission will become our regulators (no longer Companies House). The move will broaden the scope of our fundraising efforts as well as highlight the charitable nature of The Patch's objectives.

It is hoped to complete the conversion process by early September. Watch this page for further updates.
