This week we're warning about text messages being sent out by scammers impersonating Barclays by telling the recipient an application for a credit card has been approved.
It is designed to cause panic and prompt the recipient to call a number on the text, on the end of which will be a scammer waiting to entice them into revealing their financial details and defraud them.
Never call a number on a text message without checking with your bank or discussing it with a trusted friend first.
Scam messages can be reported by forwarding them to 7726.
