๐Ÿ’š The Trail lasts about 2 hours and will be at a leisurely pace with plenty of stops.

๐Ÿ’œ Walks are led by resident Historian Kate who is hugely knowledgeable, enthusiastic and has some great tales to tell.

Desford Heritage spent two wonderful days at Desford Primary School this week working with their two Year 5 classes. This year group have been studying the Second World War as part of their history curriculum and are planning a VE Day event at the end of the topic. We were thrilled to be invited into school to deliver a full day of workshops to each class looking at what life was like in Desford during this conflict.

The children were amazing. Not only did they work extremely hard on a range of different activities throughout they day, they demonstrated exceptional knowledge, analytical & evaluative skills, and a mature appreciation of the many ways our community supported the war effort.

Huge thanks also to the Year 12 A Level History students from Bosworth Academy who volunteered to come along and support our work. A very special couple of days for everyone involved.
