Humbled at "No Man's Land"
I did a bit of work last year up at Cranog park in the hope that it would encourage one of the statutory bodies to take on the area, as it's become a No Man's Land for approximately 8/9 years according to residents in the area. Unfortunately this hasn't happened, and understandably the residents are annoyed and frustrated by this. I was contacted and asked to do the job and now that the temperatures weren't so high today I decided to give it a go. I say give it a go, it was a 9 hour job lol but luckily for me after 5 hours on the job solo, local residents starter appearing and helping out!!!
I was truly amazed and utterly humbled by this experience as this is the first time since starting SCM where I have seen this happen. All of a sudden it went from a one man solo mission to a 7 strong team of individuals all working and helping each other to achieve one aim....to help improve the appearance of their local area.
These residents have dealt with this overgrown area for far too long and today they all pulled together as a team and a community to sort the problem themselves. It's almost as they have given up hope on the statutory agencies and have realised that no one is coming to rescue them with this problem. So instead they have now decided that they will look after the area, with perhaps a bit of SCM help from time to time.
Thanks of all your help and efforts today guys, yous were all amazing, and all worked so very hard. Thanks to Martin, Michelle, Raymond, the 2 Paul's and Louise!!!
