Following on from yesterday's trip across East Anglia, 37218 is seen heading past Crown Point, Norwich, working 6X38 Lowestoft Recp. - Colchester T.C.. 47701 is seen this time bringing up the rear.

A three-day weekend means an extra day working on the loco!

Today's focus is on preparing the bulkhead in No.2 cab, continuing on from yesterday's relaying of the floor. This is all in readiness to start rebuilding this end, to match the exterior restoration and thus finish No.2 end for now (until final painting).

Railway preservation is a team effort, and often involves the help of other people and organisations to achieve the end goal.

With that in mind, we'd like to take the opportunity to thank Adam and his colleagues at the Welding Centre Ltd in Wisbech for the supply of welding equipment and welding consumables. The Welding Centre has a huge variety of stock and can also source items not stocked. During our visit we were given some excellent information and secured a great deal, making it well worth the trip from Dereham. We are sure we will be back again to re-supply at some point during the bodywork restoration of D6703.

It is this type of kindness and generosity that has helped us all the way through this project and we are very grateful for it!
