Hey 👋🏻 residents of Allenton/ Osmaston area!

Who fancies turning their clutter into cash this summer? 💰☀️
I'm planning on doing a garden sale on a weekend during the 6 week break (so mid July to End of August) and just wanted to see if there are any other residents that would be interested in holding one on the same day.I live on Marlborough rd, but anyone is welcome to join in if you live within the perimeter of:
📍 Spider Island (Osmaston Park rd exit)
📍 Down Elton rd to Osmaston rd
📍 Along as far as spider bridge
I got the idea from a few I've seen done in other locations across derby and quite a few people took part, so it would be great to get a collective one going!I'm planning to clear out:
👗 Mainly clothing
🎲 Some toys / board games
🏡 Some household bits
🌱....and maybe some baby plants! 🤞🏻
Just seeing if there's any interest from people wanting to do one on the same day. If we get enough people, we can all arrange a date that works for us. Then a post will be made listing the addresses taking part, a brief description of what’s being sold, and a map outlining what streets will have items for sale 🗺️

We invite our community to join us for our next PALS of Osmaston Park meeting. It’s a chance to hear about our current projects, share ideas, and learn more about the work we’re doing to support and improve the park.

If you’re interested in volunteering to help strengthen your local community, this is a great opportunity to find out more.

PALS of Osmaston Park are pleased to announce we are collaborating with Sinfin Comm Centre and SCX to bring you Osmastons Fun Day

Saturday 4th July
Osmaston Park
12pm-4pm

All activities are free of charge, everyone must sign in on arrival to take part in any of the activities! The only things you will need to pay for is the refreshments from the cafe on the park and ice cream van! We have something for everyone...and its all free!

What a brilliant evening at the Sinfin & Osmaston Forum tonight at Sinfin Library.

Emma and Ryan did an incredible job sharing the word of PALS — who we are, what we stand for, and why we’re so passionate about bringing our community together through Osmaston Park.

We loved meeting so many like‑minded groups, including the amazing Library of Things, launching this summer in Chellaston with a free‑to‑borrow service for everything from BBQs to lawn mowers to catering equipment. Community sharing at its best.

A huge shout‑out to Supporting Communities, who are doing fantastic work with local young people. Their dedication to youth engagement really inspired us, and we’re excited to explore how we can bring more Osmaston youth into the park — from litter picks to eco‑projects and more.

Tomorrow night our committee meets at Osmaston Park Community Centre at 5pm to plan upcoming events: Osmaston Fun Day, Halloween… and dare we say it… Christmas.

Everyone is welcome to join us.

EASTER SATURDAY ON OSMASTON PARK

Don’t forget about our action packed day on Osmaston Park tomorrow.

50p entry per child to have access to activities in the community centre. From 2pm we will be having an Easter bonnet / egg parade - we can’t wait to see the creativity (please remember to enter you need to bring with you your ready made Easter bonnet / egg)

We will also be serving refreshments*

📅 Saturday 4th April

This weekend is shaping up to be a proper action‑packed Easter Saturday on Osmaston Park, with two events running across the day — something for all ages.

PALS of Osmaston Park – Easter Event

1pm–3pm | 🐰 Parade at 2pm
📍 Osmaston Park Community Centre

A relaxed, family‑friendly afternoon for the little ones. A chance to get together, have some fun, and make a few Easter memories.

🎟️ 50p entry per child
Covers all activities and includes a small treat.

👒 Bonnet & Egg Decorating Competitions
For children up to age 11. Bring your best bonnet or get creative with your own egg. Prizes on the day.
*supplies for this not provided

🍪 Decorate an Easter Biscuit
Limited numbers — first come, first served.

🐰 The Easter Bunny will be there
Perfect for photos and big smiles.

🥤 Snacks & drinks available to buy

Ozzy Wheels – Easter BMX Jam

⏰ 12pm–6pm
📍 Osmaston Park - BMX Track

Running earlier and carrying on after our event, Ozzy Wheels will be hosting their Easter BMX Jam on the park.

A great one for older kids, teens, riders, and anyone who wants to watch some proper energy and talent on the ramps.

Expect riding, music, a buzzing atmosphere, and plenty going on throughout the afternoon.

🎄✨ Our Community Christmas Tree is Back! ✨🎄

PALS of Osmaston Park would like to say a huge thank you to the Sinfin and Osmaston Neighbourhood Board for once again funding our beautiful community Christmas Tree this year. Your support helps us bring festive cheer to everyone in our neighbourhood!

We’d love for you to be part of it. How can you get involved? 🙌

Come along to Little Angels at the Community Centre on Osmaston Park Monday-Friday between 9:30am – 2:30pm and add your own decorations to the tree.

This isn’t just any Christmas tree – it’s our community tree, decorated by our community.

Together, let’s make it shine brighter than ever! 🌟
