Despite the wet weather, our members enjoyed a wonderful trip to Planters Garden Centre today. The rain certainly didn’t stop us from exploring and seeing all the animals. After our visit, we warmed up with a hot drink and a slice of cake, which everyone thoroughly enjoyed.

It was lovely to see members getting out and about, socialising, and making the most of the day together.

Today, some of our members enjoyed a lovely trip to a local garden centre. They spent time exploring the displays, watching the birds, and admiring the fish, making the most of the peaceful surroundings. The visit was rounded off with a relaxing stop at the café, where everyone enjoyed refreshments and social time together.

Back at the centre, members took part in a fun and engaging game of Healthy Living Bingo, encouraging conversations about positive lifestyle choices and wellbeing. They also enjoyed refreshing mango and banana smoothies as part of the day’s healthy living theme.

It was wonderful to see members staying active, socialising, and taking part in activities that promote health, wellbeing, and enjoyment throughout the day.

Today, our members enjoyed a wonderful morning of table-top gardening at the centre using the bedding plants we purchased during our recent trip to the garden centre.

Everyone got involved in planting, arranging, and caring for the flowers, showing great teamwork, creativity, and enthusiasm throughout the session. It was lovely to see members making choices about where to place the plants, learning new gardening skills, and taking pride in creating colourful displays that will brighten up our outdoor spaces.

Activities like this provide fantastic opportunities to build confidence, encourage independence, develop fine motor skills, and support wellbeing through spending time with nature. Most importantly, everyone had lots of fun and enjoyed seeing their hard work come together.

Well done to all our members for their excellent work – we can’t wait to watch the plants grow and bloom over the coming weeks! 🌼🌱🌷

Our members enjoyed a trip to Little Eaton Garden Centre today to buy compost for the plants we will be planting soon. After shopping, we enjoyed a cake and drink in the café, and several members also purchased items of their own.

It was great to see everyone confidently working out their money and making purchases independently. A massive shout-out to Mick for driving the minibus and helping make the trip possible. Well done to everyone for a fantastic day!

We were very lucky to welcome a fire engine and a team of firefighters to the centre today. They took the time to show us all the equipment, explain how it is used, and answer lots of questions from our members.

It was an absolutely fantastic morning, full of learning, engagement, and excitement. This visit was especially meaningful as one of our members had requested the opportunity to see a fire engine up close and learn more about the equipment. It was wonderful to see his wish come true and to watch him and everyone else enjoy the experience so much. 🚒🧯🩵🧑‍🚒

A huge thank you to the firefighters for their time, kindness, and dedication to making the visit so special. It was a memorable morning for all involved.
