The Enabled Centre The Enabled Centre is a day service provision and part of the charity Disability Direct, supporting disabled people in Derby and the surrounding areas.

We cater for disabled adults from Derby and the surrounding areas and aim to use this page to keep you up to date with what goes on inside the Enabled Centre from week to week. The Enabled Centre is a day service for disabled adults which provides a wide range of arts, crafts, and learning activities, led by skilled Activity Coordinators and trained and experienced Care and Support staff. The activities are carefully structured to promote choice, independence, the learning of new skills, and improving existing skills. The activities include a variety of arts and crafts including sewing, card making, jewellery making, painting, and much more. Group sessions are also provided, some of which include cooking and baking, music, quizzes, and trips out. The centre is also able to deliver Independent Living Workshops enabling members to improve their skills in a variety of ways. These include Money Management, Friendships & Relationships, Safe Computer Use, and Meal Planning and Preparation. The team of Care and Support Staff provide encouragement and assistance to members as required, including support with meals and personal care.

🎃🎄 A Creative Thursday at The Enabled Centre! 🎄🎃

Our Thursday members had a fantastic morning getting creative with some spooky pumpkin carving! 🎃✨ Everyone had lots of fun choosing their designs, getting stuck in and seeing their pumpkins come to life. There were plenty of smiles, laughter and some wonderfully spooky creations!

We’ve also been getting into the Christmas spirit as our members have been busy making lots of festive crafts ready for our Christmas Fayre on Saturday 21st November! 🎄🎅✨

It’s wonderful to see everyone getting involved, sharing ideas and putting their creativity into each handmade creation. We can’t wait to show you everything we’ve been making! ❤️

⚽️🏟️ A Dream Trip to Pride Park! 🏟️⚽️

One of our members recently requested a trip to Pride Park Stadium for a stadium tour, and of course, we were delighted to help make that request a reality! 💙

We believe it’s so important to listen to our members, support their interests and do everything we can to help make their wishes and goals happen. Seeing the excitement and happiness on our member’s face throughout the day made it all so worthwhile. 🥰

Our members had a fantastic time exploring behind the scenes, including the changing rooms, press room and pitch, while learning more about the stadium and what goes on behind the scenes on match days. ⚽️

There were plenty of smiles, excitement and fantastic memories made along the way. 💙

Seeing our members happy, enjoying new experiences and achieving something they have wished for means so much to us. What a brilliant day and an experience we won’t forget! 🌟

A huge thank you to everyone who helped make this special trip possible. 👏💙

🎃👻 A Spooktacular Day at Swarkestone Garden Centre! 👻🎃

Our members had a lovely time visiting Swarkestone Garden Centre for a fun-filled spooky pumpkin hunt! 🎃🔎

Everyone enjoyed exploring the garden centre, searching for the spooky pumpkins and getting into the Halloween spirit. There were plenty of smiles, laughs and some great finds along the way! 👻🕷️

After all that pumpkin hunting, it was time to relax and enjoy a well-deserved coffee and a tasty treat in the café. ☕🍰 It was a lovely opportunity to sit together, chat, enjoy each other’s company and reflect on a fantastic outing.

A brilliant day filled with fun, friendship, independence and lots of Halloween spirit! 🎃🧡
