Not long not till the DaNES Insect Show!!

🪲🪰It is not long now until the D&N Entomological Society- Danes insects Insect Show 2026 🐞🦋

The annual free event which will take place on Saturday 14th November at Derby University.

Why not visit them between 10.30am and 4.30pm to delve into the wonderful world of insects and their relatives through interactive displays, mounted specimens and live exhibits.

A variety of local and national organisations will have stands and fascinating talks will be held throughout the day, with something to interest all ages.

📢 We're proud to launch the new u3a and me report.

More than 10,000 members shared their experiences to help us better understand the impact of u3a on learning, friendship, wellbeing and purpose in later life. The findings show the remarkable difference u3a makes to people and communities across the UK.

As we approach u3a Week, we're sharing some of the headline findings and the stories behind them.

Right To Roam Event at the Quad Derby on 24 Sept from 6-9 pm

The Quad have partnered with Animate Projects to create 3 films inspired by the Right to Roam campaign movement.
You are invited to join the Quad at the screening of the films and a Q &A session led by Jon Moses a Right to Roam campaigner. Tickets are free. For more info see the link

If you haven't already, join us for one of the final Open Days of the year and discover this remarkable medieval building, tucked away not far from Derby Cathedral.

Did you know that St Mary's Chapel on the Bridge is one of only six surviving Bridge Chapel's in England, and one of only two that are still in use today?! It was originally built as a chapel for travellers crossing the River Derwent, and acts as a detached Lady Chapel of the Cathedral.

An Evening of Discovery

Derby Museums are holding a fundraising concert on Fri 25th Sept at Derby Museum and Art Gallery.
The nights entertainment begins with a concert by the acclaimed Sinfonia Viva, there is after hours access to the Wright of Derby Exhibition, From the Shadows.
Along the way there will be the unveiling of new works of art for the gallery collection and a live auction by Bamfords
