Use our tool to email your MP and ask them to support motion EDM 240 and reject the EHRC’s harmful Code of Practice: https://equalrecognition.eaction.org.uk/rejectthecode

This statutory guidance would usher in a dark age for LGBTQ+ rights in the UK, and encourage gender policing and lawfare. This, the government admits, will put trans and gender non-conforming people at risk. You can find out more about the Code here: https://www.scottishtrans.org/supreme-court-ruling-on-sex-in-the-equality-act/our-thoughts-on-the-ehrcs-updated-code-of-practice-may-2026/

This is a historic moment, and what our political representatives do here matters.

Nadia Whittome MP has tabled a motion (EDM 240) to disapprove the Code of Practice, which has already recieved cross-party support. Please ask your MP to support the motion if they haven't already.

We must keep pressure up on the issue, in a way that can help. Every person who emails is vital, and every MP who formally objects makes a difference.

Along with TransActual and Trans+ Solidarity Alliance, we've created a template to help you tell your MP how you feel about this horrific guidance, and ask them to reject it.

Sending an email only takes a few minutes. Once you've done it, please ask 3 friends to do the same.

Reform politicians justifying sexist comments by their candidates - we've seen where this leads in the USA. Reject this.

"I've never seen them act like that." Of course you haven't, you weren't their victim. They save that version for specific people. The ones they've targeted. The ones they know won't expose them.

People who defend abusers always say the same thing: "I've never seen that side of them." And you want to believe them. You want them to be right. Because it would be easier if the abuse was real and you just imagined it. But they haven't seen it because they weren't targeted. Abusers are selective. They turn it on and off depending on who's watching and who's isolated.

You weren't their target. So they were probably charming with you. Probably funny. Probably seemed like a good person. That's how they maintain their cover. That's how they get people to defend them. But you were the target. And you saw the version nobody else gets to witness. Trust what you experienced. The people who say "I've never seen them act like that" aren't calling you a liar, they're just proving they never mattered enough to see the real them.

✨Wellbeing Wednesday!✨

Fight, Flight, Freeze... and Fawn? 🦌

Most of us know about the body's natural reactions to stress: fighting back, running away, or freezing on the spot. But there is a fourth one that doesn't get talked about enough: Fawning.

Fawning is when your brain decides the safest way to handle a stressful situation or a difficult person is to make them happy.

It looks like:

👍 Automatically agreeing with someone who is criticising you.
🗣️Mimicking their opinions so they don't get angry.
🙎Over-apologising for things that weren't your fault just to lower the tension.

If you do this, please know it is not a flaw in your personality. It is a highly smart survival tactic your brain learned to keep you safe in the past. But you are safe now and you are allowed to step out of the pleasing loop.

Have you ever noticed yourself switching into 'fawn' mode when a conversation gets tense? Let us know in the comments below!👇
