Appreciated 🙏🏽

Watching Phil Basi’s film about Derby Caribbean Carnival at QUAD - Derby was such a treat. Seeing the Carnival on the big screen was a reminder of just how much it means to people across the city.

Mr George Mighty MBE helped start it more than 50 years ago, and it was brilliant to see him recognised. Derby West Indian Community Association does so much to keep the Derby Caribbean Carnival going and bring people together throughout the year. That work deserves every bit of recognition.

Congratulations to Phil and everyone involved in making the film.

Do you know these Black inventors? 👀

What we know is that when children see brilliance in the people who came before them, they begin to imagine what’s possible for themselves. 🖤

Future inventors. Future innovators. Future greatness. ✨
