Shining Stars Starting up again from
Monday 13th April 2026, 10am-11.30am Welcome to Shining Stars page! We hope to see you soon!

We are a small toddler group based at the Gordon Lacey Hall in Ockbrook (by the A52 turning) and meet every Monday from 10am - 11.30am. We are part of All Saint's Church in Ockbrook and welcome parents, grandparents, guardians and of course babies and toddlers to come and join in the fun. Shining Stars started in 2011 and during this time we've seen lots of babies join us and we always we feel sad

when we have to say goodbye as they venture off to school. The atmosphere is very relaxed and friendly with mums and grandparents chatting over hot drinks and homemade foods. The children enjoy crafts, free play, snacks and an energetic music time to finish. Although there us no charge for Shining Stars donations are very welcome.

We are reopening on Mondays 10am-11.30am from tomorrow 13th April 2026. We look forward to welcoming parents/carers and their little ones for fun , music , drinks and toast 🥰

We have nominated two of our fabulous volunteers for the Lots for Tots Derbyshire Volunteer of the Year Award. These ladies are both busy local mums who do SO much around their other commitments to support local families through The Breastfeeding Network (UK).

Isabel is a really dedicated Volunteer Breastfeeding Peer Supporter. In the past year, she has led 62 breastfeeding support sessions across two of our venues. She co-chairs one of our Erewash teams and recently completed advanced training to enhance the support she can offer Derbyshire families. She has just received her three-year service award.

Stacey is an inspiring team leader for our group in North East Derbyshire. Also a Volunteer Breastfeeding Peer Supporter, Stacey runs regular breastfeeding drop-in sessions at four of our venues, receiving really positive feedback from parents she has supported. She recently completed advanced training, allowing her to work on the National Breastfeeding Helpline UK and to provide training for our other volunteers.
