🇦🇲 Armenian Women’s Network UK at the Armenian Summer Festival 2026

Armenian Women’s Network UK was delighted to have its own stall at this year’s festival, celebrating our community and sharing our work with visitors from across the UK.

The festival was a fantastic opportunity to bring together Armenians from all over the United Kingdom, alongside friends and guests from many different nationalities, to enjoy delicious Armenian traditional food, barbecue, music, dancing, refreshments, and a day full of joy, friendship and unforgettable memories.

We were honoured to welcome talented performers from Armenia Ala Levonyan, Harut Arshakyan and Vladimir Poghosyan, whose performances made the celebration even more memorable. It was also a great privilege to welcome H.E. Varuzhan Nersesyan, Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia to the United Kingdom, to our stall, as well as His Grace Bishop Hovakim Manukyan, Primate of the Armenian Church in the United Kingdom and Ireland.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who visited our stall, supported our work, and helped make this year’s festival such a special celebration of our heritage, community and unity.

Together, we connect, empower and inspire. 💙🇦🇲

Such a wonderful surprise to meet fellow Armenians in Liverpool and spend a truly Armenian day together, enjoying delicious traditional barbecue and homemade Armenian food—including homemade gata, basturma and sujukh!

A huge thank you to everyone for making the day so special, and in particular to Liana and Perch for organising such a warm, memorable gathering and for their incredible hospitality.

It was heartwarming to discover that there is a small but vibrant Armenian community in Liverpool. Days like these remind us that no matter where we are in the world, Armenian hospitality, friendship and traditions always bring us together.

And, of course, a special mention goes to the wonderful dog, Chico, who brought smiles and happiness to everyone throughout the day! 🐶❤️🇦🇲

Happy Vardavar! 💦🇦🇲

Vardavar is one of the most beautiful and joyful traditions of the Armenian people. Vardavar is not only an important feast day in the Armenian Apostolic Church, but also a wonderful tradition that brings people together through joy, laughter and unity.

This year’s Vardavar celebration was also organised at Holy Trinity Armenian Church in Manchester on July 5th. We attended a beautiful Sunday Divine Liturgy led by the new priest, Father Movses, followed by a fantastic community barbecue in the church grounds.

There was Armenian music, delicious food, dancing, and a warm atmosphere where everyone could enjoy spending time together. It was also a lovely opportunity to chat with Father Movses, get to know him better, and spend quality time with other members of our Armenian community.

The event was especially meaningful for the children. It gave Armenian children a wonderful opportunity to meet one another, speak Armenian, play together, make new friends, and strengthen their connection to their culture and heritage. These moments are so important for preserving our language, identity, and traditions, while building a strong Armenian Diaspora for future generations.

Of course, one of the highlights of the day was the traditional water splashing, an ancient Armenian custom that has been passed down through generations. Seeing families and friends laughing together reminded us how precious our traditions are and how they continue to unite Armenians wherever we live.

As the day came to an end, we continued another cherished Armenian tradition—sharing a cup of authentic Armenian coffee together before saying our goodbyes. It was a lovely way to reflect on the day, enjoy one last conversation, and leave with warm hearts until we meet again.

A heartfelt thank you to all the organisers, volunteers and everyone who worked so hard to make this celebration possible. Events like these strengthen our Armenian Diaspora, preserve our heritage, and create lasting memories for future generations.

Happy Vardavar to everyone! May this beautiful feast bring joy, blessings, unity, peace, and hope to all. Աստված օրհնի բոլորիս։ 💙💦🇦🇲
