Here we go again I fetched 2 more babies today how lucky am I 🫣😂!!!

2 baby girls sadly there mum died on Saturday at a rescue pneumonia but no one knew about babies one arrived in the garden late Saturday evening then another one last night and there could be more yet 😱

Laura who’s garden they were found in was so upset to lose mum she had been in her garden along time visiting then when baby turned up she was overjoyed I’ve got to say she did her research and did everything right, but did think she could look after them.
After seeking advice I told her they needed to come into the rescue as two small without mum 1is 121g the other is 118g.
They are both now here and doing what babies do sleep 💤.

The other 3 babies have been moved out the incubator as they just sleep so into a big cage still heated but not as warm so they may actually start moving about.
And I gave them some soaked biscuits to explore or in their case climb all over and trash but they had some fun was lovely to see them awake.

So that’s all from me tonight please send me your healing vibes they don’t need it I do I’m knackered 😴.

So I start tonight’s post with a sad one Harri passed away this morning bless her she had lost all use of her legs when I went to check her this morning and passed shortly after fly high little lady. ❤️🦔🌈

So 3 babies who love to sleep more than food 🥱 I’m totally stressed by 12 today!! So time for a chat 🤣

“Babies it’s quite simple eat or you will die “
Straight to the point so I decided to leave them longer thinking this will help they will be so hungry, absolutely not that didn’t work 😣lazy buggers just won’t wake up they take a few drops and fall asleep.
So had to be cruel to be kind straight out the incubator and into a box while they woke up finally the lot started moving around and by 8 pm they had all had a good feed back into the incubator they all fell asleep again the joys of being a baby!!!
Fingers crossed the next feed is also a good one ☝️

What a day feel so stressed 😣little lady Harri who came in yesterday is struggling massively keeping on top of the dehydration is a battle as she has diarrhoea so I’m putting fluids in and she is losing it the other end.
Her poo sample shows fluke, capillaria and lungworm.
Fluke can make hogs very restless and she is big time she really is in a bad way she is drinking a little but not interested in Food. I’ve got a bad feeling fingers crossed for her. ❤️
Then my worsed nightmare at 6pm I went to Barton Fabis and fetched 3 babies found without mum.
Anyone that really knows me knows I don’t do babies way too much stress !! But they are here 🫣2 girls both 132g and 1 boy 113g not bad weights but they all look so much smaller they all had a first good feed but they really should be with mum sadly no sign of her.
So I need to be mum now and do everything I can for them NO pressure 😱 could be along night.

Evening hope your all well.
Sorry I forgot to update you on the little lady from last week who came in from priory vets. So she has since been released back home her poo samples were clear and she had no injuries apart from eating for England she was good to be released. She has been seen since by neighbours where she lives and is doing well and at the right time of the day!!
Today I picked up Harri from James at Borrowash. Harri is a girl and weighs 455g on the first assessment I would have said she was possibly over 1 years of age a last years baby but I think now on examination she is older.
She is massively dehydrated, lathargic, sunken eyes, pale gums and wobbly. Once warmer she has had injectable fluids and will continue to have them throughout the night.
Wish her all the luck healing vibes needed.❤️🦔###x

Sadly the little boy from Donington has gone over rainbow bridge today 🌈with the help from the vets thanks everyone at priory again.
After X-rays and ultra sounds it was the kindest thing to do nothing could be fixed for the long term the pelvis was in a mess.
Travel well little man 🦔💙it’s a far safer place where your going.

I also today picked up Ashley from priory who was bought into them yesterday I need to do poo samples and see what’s going on with her but something was telling me to get the mother and baby cage ready it may be the fact that she is huge 1064g so Steve has sorted it and it’s set up in a separate part of the garage in case on its own for peace and quiet.
Always good to think ahead instead of going into complete panic when you check in the morning and there are 6 babies in there!!
It’s only happened to me once in 8 years mum was Bella when I opened the cage up in the morning I really was lost for words!!! Which is very unusual for me 🤣.

That’s all from me tonight I’m closed tomorrow it’s the 1st anniversary of my dad’s passing and I want to be with my mum. Back open Thursday.

Little update on the little man I bought into the rescue yesterday from castle donnington.
He did eat over night and gained weight from 771g to 800g I was super surprised to find he was still with me this morning he is also weeing and pooing.

But the question is what’s going on ?

Have you ever put bread in the toaster and watched it cook takes forever while your waiting and watching doesn’t it !!

Well that’s how it’s felt today waiting to see him walk but no that didn’t happen but I’m pretty certain he has lost feeling in both back legs and part of his rear end.

Only an X-ray will tell me that so hopefully I will be able to get him checked this week once he is stronger, to be sedated.

He must be dragging himself to the food but I’ve still yet to catch a glimpse how he is moving. 😱

His poo sample is full of capillaria, fluke and lungworm bless he is in a bad way.
Fingers crossed he willl start to improve he is on pain relief and is nice and comfortable.
Fingers crossed I can turn him around.

Hello everyone yes I’m back and the rescue is open 🦔❤️💙

Today I fetched a little boy from park lane in castle Donington he is 771g and his body condition is excellent so clearly been living the best life until the early hours of this morning.

Would seem he has been hit by something more than likely a car the road is like a race track.

He has had pain relief and fluids but hasn’t moved all day. He really isn’t doing well bless him. He will be monitored over night but with no movement my worry is that he is paralysed he doesn’t seem to have any feeling from his head down.

Fingers crossed he needs a miracle right now.

I’ve got everything crossed for him. 💙🦔###

This was the original post heart breaking 💔

I’m absolutely disgusted to introduce one of today’s admissions, as he has been attacked by kids 😡

In the park at Greenhill Community Hub (Skelmerdale) three girls around 10-12 years old were observed throwing the hedgehog down the slide and also throwing him up in the air dropping to the floor, before deciding to bury him alive! 😠

What breaks my heart even more is that judging by his body temperature and the fact he has flystrike near his tail, it indicates to me that Hedgy was out during the day because he was feeling unwell. And instead of finding kind humans to help him, he was instead thrown around like a toy. What’s even worse is that if he was very unwell, he would not have been able to curl into a ball to defend himself. Spines also work as shock absorbers when they curl up, and without this protection who knows what damage these girls have caused.

A young boy saw some of this cruelty and told his friend as he knew his friends mum would help. They walked to the park immediately and saw the girls walking/running away as they tended to the hoggie who they could see was still breathing under the soil in a plant pot.

I’m beyond outraged, heartbroken, and disgusted by the actions of those girls. This will be a police matter; I will be filing a report tomorrow morning and I WILL push this as far as I can to find justice.

Hedgy is on some nice painkillers, being warmed up in an incubator. I’m awake every two hours for the hoglet, so I will be keeping a very close eye on him and if he seems in pain (he’s out cold right now) I will take him to the emergency vet. Otherwise I’ll try and stabilise him overnight and take him for x-rays tomorrow at the Rescue’s normal vet surgery.

I’m extremely grateful to the boys involved in getting Hedgy to safety and help 💜

PLEASE SHARE THIS POST so that hopefully any witnesses can contact me with further information. I will be contacting the Greenville Community Hub tomorrow to check for CCTV. It is not fair that an animal has been treated this way 💔
