We were meant to post this last month, so you'll all get a cheeky extra one this month instead.
In November, TheatreWorks turns 10, so every month leading up to it, we'll celebrate each year of our history.
This one is 2017! Our first carnival and first production of Alice in Wonderland.
It feels like yesterday. It was a good one!

A community without young people is a community without renewal, energy, and a living bridge to the future.

What do you hear about young people "these days"?

Stuck inside on tech instead of outside?
Rude?
Antisocial?
Lazy?

These young people challenge that perception in every way.
They choose to spend their weekend learning skills, creating art, building confidence, singing, performing, dancing, laughing and working incredibly hard.

The talent they possess, the teamwork they show every week and the friendships they foster are nothing but positive, joyful, innocent and inspiring.

We are lucky to work with them, we are lucky to know them. We are lucky that they fill our weekends with laughter, noise and the reminder of what it was like to be young; of the mistakes you make, and how you can always progress and learn from them, forgive quickly and strive to better.

A community belongs to young people as much as it belongs to the old, and is much richer because of it.

Our first 2026 show announcement:

TheatreWorks Juniors will be Rehearsing Alice in Wonderland at The Golf Road Community Centre ready to perform it for you this summer.

We still have places available in the cast for ages 7-10.

TheatreWorks turns 10 this year. Here's where it all started.
Getting emotional posting this. I couldn't have imagined all the incredible young people we've got to create theatre with or all the laughs, tears and opportunities that all came from that one idea in 2016.

They'll be more ten year nostalgia posts this year I'm sure.
This year is a BIG one for us, lots to reveal and of course we will be organising one hell of an anniversary party, so if you are part of our TW family, both old and new, please get ready for that!
