June 18th - Long-awaited return of Johnny Coppin to Deal Folk Club! Johnny’s gorgeous and seemingly effortless vocals have graced the acoustic scene since the emergence of the band Decameron in the early 1970s. In 2026 he marks the 50th Anniversary of his solo career with concerts throughout the UK. He is a talented singer and songwriter, playing both piano and guitar, and has over fourteen albums to his name, including The Winding Stair, Borderland, Edge of Day with writer Laurie Lee, and his most recent album River of Dreams. His songs are essentially English, and always melodic and evocative. Over the years, Johnny has also played duo gigs with Mike Silver, with Phil Beer (ex Show of Hands), with Paul Burgess (Old Swan Band), and every December he tours with his ‘All on a Winter’s Night’ show. Admission £10. Johnny will do 2x45 minute sets and there will be time for some floor singers.

Dear All - Please be aware that we might start slightly early this evening to try to fit a few more floor singers in!

On April 23rd Deal Folk Club has Special Guests Chris Sherburn, Denny Bartley & Emily Sanders. Yorkshireman Chris (Concertina) and Denny (Vocals and Guitar) from Ireland have brought their unique sound to audiences across the globe since 1993. Their obvious rapport made them one of the busiest acts on the folk scene, both as a duo and with their well-loved band, Last Night’s Fun. In 2016, they joined forces with Emily (Fiddle/viola and Vocals) to form this exciting trio, blending vocal harmonies and strings to their unique sound.
Now, their soul-stirring songs, exhilarating tunes and quick-witted banter ensures that no two concerts are ever the same. From festival stages to intimate venues, their performances are filled with warmth, laughter, and exceptional musicianship. Don’t miss the chance to experience their magic live!
“Chris, Denny and Emily sound good, make you smile and are a great mix – a true chemistry lesson… Superb musicians of the highest order.” Alan Wood, The Barn at Baston
