Another month, another topic. February's topic of 'Blood' resulted in many and varied poetic treatments and, not least, brought out some heartfelt recollections. March's theme takes on lighter tones (I think), but we'll see what our next meeting brings.

Our theme for the New Year is a topical one, 'Resolutions' but, of course, this theme applies to a number of interpretations - firm decisions, personal goals, formal declarations, problem solving, display resolution and imaging, and literary endings where conflicts may be resolved. We look forward to sharing our poems at our next meeting. With a Merry Christmas and a Happy 2026 to all.
"Christmas comes but once a year
And as the moment comes yet near
Let your hearts be filled with cheer
To share with others far and near"

It's launched! "Poetry for Pleasure: An Anthology" was officually launched at The Manor House, Dawlish (7/11/25). The celebration was attended by The Mayor of Dawlish, Cllr. Anthony James, and Cllrs. Rosie Dawson and Alison Foden, alongside poets, families, friends and invitees. Headlining the event was popular performance poet, Robert Garnham, after which, poets featured in the anthology read extracts.
The anthology is available from The Dawlish Book Shop, Presents of Dawlish, The Devon Sand Box, Teignmouth and on Amazon (just search for the title).

Teignmouth Book Fair Saturday 8th November 10am - 3pm
It's great to announce the upcoming launch of our new poetry book, "Poetry for Pleasure: An Anthology". 86 poems written by 14 poets that are by turn moving, witty, reflective, and joyful. Rooted in local landscapes but reaching wider worlds, this anthology celebrates the spirit of the extraordinary in everyday experiences and memories: varied and heartfelt. The book will be on sale at the Pavilions, Teignmouth Book Fair.
