So far in 2026, Your Local Air Ambulance WNDLR crews have completed more than 2,200 missions, bringing advanced, lifesaving care to patients when every second matters ⏳

Our busiest month so far was May, when we attended 365 missions. Each one represents a patient, a family and a crew ready to respond in some of the most difficult moments imaginable.

We’d LOVE to show our hardworking crews how much they mean to our community. Can we fill the comments with at least 365 messages of support, one for every mission completed in May? 💛

Last week, we welcomed nursing students from 順天堂/Juntendo Univ in Japan to our DLR base at Nottingham Heliport as part of their visit to the UK with De Montfort University Leicester (DMU).

The exchange gave the students an insight into how our crews provide rapid, specialist pre-hospital emergency care, and how The Air Ambulance Service fits within the wider UK healthcare system. It was a busy day for our crew, but they managed to return to base just in time to meet the group, restock and share a few smiles and waves.

A big thank you to HEMS Paramedic Steph Cook, who hosted the visit, along with CCP Sam Cooper and Dr James Nayyar for taking the time to welcome the students. A link to learn more about our charity will be in the comments.

Just two weeks after a family holiday in Florida, Jason Falls' life changed in an instant when he collapsed from a cardiac arrest at a car dealership. Thanks to quick-thinking staff who started CPR and used a defibrillator, along with the rapid response of Your Local Air Ambulance WNDLR and land ambulance crews, Jason survived and is now back enjoying life with his family.

Jason spent almost three weeks in hospital, where he was fitted with an internal defibrillator and began the journey back to health. His story is one of many featured in our latest issue of Skies the Limit, which also includes updates from across the charity, lifesaving advice from our teams and much more! 📖

July Mission Update 🚁

In July, our Your Local Air Ambulance WNDLR crews responded to 314 missions, with an average of more than 10 call-outs every day. Our teams flew for over 74 hours and drove more than 3,500 miles to reach patients in need, with medical incidents, RTCs and falls among the most common reasons for call-outs.

For the third month in a row, Leicestershire (89) was our most visited county, followed by Derbyshire (49) and Warwickshire (40). We’re deeply saddened to share that our Your Local Air Ambulance WNDLR Cheylesmore charity shop was broken into recently. The intruders smashed the front door, ripped cupboards from the wall to take the safe, and caused damage to the store.

This incident doesn’t just affect the shop itself, it impacts the wider charity and the vital work we do to support our communities. We’re incredibly grateful to the local supporters who have shown their support for the Cheylesmore shop since the break-in, including Coventry's Lord Mayor, who came into the store to show his solidarity.

Last week, our crews responded to 64 missions, with Sunday and Monday the busiest days. Medical incidents remained the largest category, while RTCs saw a noticeable increase, and our teams transported 51 patients to 11 hospitals by land and air 🚁

As we head into another hot week, our crews are staying hydrated and ready to respond whenever they’re needed. Please help us by sharing and interacting with this post! The more people who see our work, the more support we can raise to keep our lifesaving service flying 💛

From baking and sewing to gardening and looking after those closest to her, Annie found joy in the simple things and made a lasting difference to everyone around her.
