On Friday 9th October, to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Daventry Town Community Bus (formerly Dial-a-Ride), and the collaboration between DACT and Daventry Town Council.
Daventry Mayor Cllr Keith Astley, his consort Mrs Astley, and DTC Chief Officer Sarah Fox, joined our lovely regular Friday morning volunteer driver Ian McVeigh and Ian, one of our Cummins volunteer helper, on the DTC Bus. Together, they collected passengers, dropped them off in town, and returned them home later.
Daventry Town Community Bus is a free service for residents aged 65 and over or those with mobility and access challenges.
It provides door-to-door transport to Daventry town centre and back.
The service runs every Friday, making it ideal for market shopping, appointments in town, or meeting a friend for coffee. The DTC Bus will get you there safely and comfortably.
For more information or to book a seat, call DACT on 01327 701665.
This year, the service expanded to cover the whole of Daventry, including Monksmoor, Micklewell, Malabar and Staverton Lodge.

The Mayor also visited the DACT Mobility Shop, where he met manager Shana, learned about its products, and viewed the fleet of mobility scooters and wheelchairs available for hire. He also met DACT Chief Executive Phil and Transport Operations Manager Martyn.
