It’s and we’re celebrating how farmers are working with nature to tackle climate change.

Through our Nature Based Solutions to Climate Change project, 10 farmers across England have taken practical steps to reduce emissions, build resilience, and protect natural resources. All within just one year.

From measuring carbon footprints to improving soil, biodiversity, and water management, these farmers are showing that nature-based solutions can deliver real, lasting change while supporting productive businesses.

Climate action in Cumbria
Last week we visited Stone Ends Farm, bringing farmers and industry together to explore climate action on a working livestock farm.
As part of our Journey to Net Zero project supported by the Co-op Foundation, the day focused on peatland restoration, tree planting, and balancing environmental and farming outcomes.
A great example of how collaboration and shared learning can support progress towards net zero.

Thanks to Bob and his family for hosting!

Join our LEAF Digs Deeper webinar at 10am on Friday 12 June to hear how farmer-led research can help cut synthetic fertiliser.

We’ll explore a new project on how cover crop data can help cut synthetic fertiliser use while maintaining yield and quality – across five farms in southern England, including three LEAF Demonstration Farms. The group is trialling approaches and testing remote sensing to inform decisions.

We’ll cover:
• How the collaboration formed
• Trial design
• Challenges and opportunities
• Early lessons

Join the discussion on practical, collaborative research in action.

Brazil’s Cerrado is disappearing fast – over 1 million km² lost in 50 years. This vital ecosystem underpins South America’s water systems, yet its destruction is closely linked to global demand for soy and beef.
The UK imports millions of tonnes of soy each year, around 90% for livestock feed – directly tying our meat supply chains to this loss.

The NCS Project is working to break this link by supporting more sustainable supply chains and protecting the Cerrado for the future.

Did you know that in 2025, LEAF worked with nearly ALL major UK retailers through LEAF Marque certification? A key highlight was our partnership with Fresh Direct, ensuring all contracted UK fresh produce growers achieved LEAF Marque - expanding trusted certification into food service and hospitality.

This confidence is reflected globally, with the LEAF Marque network growing to 3,235 certified businesses across 55 countries by the end of 2025.
