The station became operational in November 2007. The crew is made up of Helms, boat crew, shore crew, tractor drivers, press officers and deputy launch authorities. All have allocated duty times so that the station remains open for duty 24/7. The station averages around 50 shouts a year.

Dart RNLI was thrilled to receive a generous donation from River Dart Rotary raised at their magnificent Summer Fete.
Peter Adolphus, the River Dart Rotary President, and colleague Jane Willis handed over a cheque for £1,202.96 to Dart Fundraising Chair John Butler outside the new lifeboat station.
The May event was a roaring success and Peter Adolphus was delighted to help raise funds for the volunteers at Dart RNLI.
‘We like helping local organisations and it’s great to form new relationships around the town,’ said Peter.
‘We had around 24 stalls on the day and it was a lovely atmosphere and a very good day.
‘The RNLI has a great tradition in Dartmouth. They are a friendly team and we’re very happy to help such an important cause.’
Fundraising chair John Butler added: ‘It was a remarkable effort from River Dary Rotary and very generous to donate such an amount.
‘Every donation helps the charity and our aim of helping save lives at sea.
‘All the fundraisers and the crew would like to pass on their thanks to Peter, Jane and their team.’

Dart RNLI Lifeboat volunteers were tasked by Falmouth Coastguard at 11.50am on Monday (May 25) following reports of an activated man overboard signal, or Personal Locator Beacon (PLB), near Premier Noss on Dart Marina.
Both the B-Class Atlantic, helmed by Lee Darch and crewed by Yorkie Lomas, Robin Johnston and Will Davis, and the D-Class, helmed by Liam Hassard and crewed by Shannon Hart and Caleb Brown, liaised with harbour patrol to search the area for around two hours, but no casualties were found.
During the search, another AIS on MOB signal was picked up, and the source was discovered to be an unintentional activation at a Dartmouth property.
Both boats were stood down, and while the shout proved to be a false alarm, it was an important reminder of the need to regularly check, maintain and correctly store emergency equipment, as every activation is treated as a potential emergency until proven otherwise.
Big congratulations to Liam Hassard for his first shout as recently qualified helm.

Dart RNLI Lifeboat crews carried out a joint training exercise with Viking Sentinel, a British-flagged multi-role Emergency Response and Rescue Vessel (ERRV) and offshore support ship on Tuesday evening (May 19).
Both the B-Class Atlantic and D-Class lifeboats were tasked to the simulation, with a crew member suffering a medical emergency on board.
The B-Class conducted an alongside transfer, moving crew from the D-Class on to the Viking Sentinel.
Once on board, the casualty was assessed and treated by the lifeboat crew before being safely transferred back on to the B-Class for onward evacuation.
The exercise provided valuable experience in casualty care, vessel transfers and working safely alongside a large commercial vessel at sea.

Dart RNLI Lifeboat volunteers joined forces with the Cefas Endeavor survey ship for a training session on May 17. The B-Class Atlantic practised 'pacing alongside' with the trainee helms, plus other manoeuvres. Three of the crew were then transferred to the ship via a pilot ladder to run through boarding procedures, in case needed on a future shout. Huge thanks to Cefas Endeavor for facilitating the Dart volunteers on such a valuable exercise.

From all of us at Dart Lifeboat Station, we extend our heartfelt condolences to our fellow search and rescue colleagues at Marine Rescue NSW, following the tragic incident in Ballina, Australia.
The loss of their two volunteers is felt on a global scale and is a sobering reminder of the immense danger search and rescue volunteers face every day at sea. We recognise the profound impact tragedies like this have on families, crews and communities. Our thoughts are with them all.
We honour the courage, commitment and selflessness of those involved, and of everyone who dedicates their lives to saving lives at sea. They will not be forgotten. Fair winds and following seas 💙
