Since Monday I’ve had over 70 calls for wildlife, ranging from injured Foxes to Swallow Chicks to Bats.
As I’m still recovering with my back 🙄 I’m so grateful to every volunteer, transporter, other rehabbers and rescues who are all helping out so much and taking on extra.
We do have Gull chicks coming in now and thankfully we have a great team looking after them.
There is an amazing network of people across Devon (and all over the UK) who give so much to help out wildlife, it’s great to be able to message Bat groups, Badger groups, Swallow and Swift groups etc and know they will get the help they need.
Today we’ve had 2 Jackdaws, 1 Wood Pigeon, A herring Gull, A Buzzard, 3 Ducklings, 2 Swallow chicks, a pheasant chick, 1 fox cub, a Robin chick, two rabbits and a crow all saved and off to rescues ❤️.
Here’s a little Blackbird chick that was rescued from Sainsbury’s a few weeks ago and looked after by some of our volunteers Martin and Tracey, he’s happy enjoying a soft release in their garden now.

We just can’t wait for our wildlife facilities to be built 🤞

🌟Gull chick season has started 🌟
❤️And we really need your help. ❤️

To be able to rescue, rehabilitate and release injured and abandoned Gull chicks this year we will need some extra funding. The cost of all the food (wet cat/dog food, dry cat food, Sprats, supplements, cleaning essentials, PPE, medication and vets bills have all gone up.

We have limited space so we can only take the injured, abandoned and ones in danger, if a chick has fallen off and parents are still feeding them then give them space and time (obviously try to get them back on the roof or nearest high space if possible), if one falls into your garden enjoy it, give them water and extra food if they need it.. they are amazing birds.

We have brilliant volunteer teams who help to transport and feed/clean but they are all busy with jobs and families so help us by arranging to get the chick to us (or better still volunteer 😊).

We are also going to share our Amazon wishlist so if you would rather pay for something directly please do.

Last year we released 437 healthy, happy Gulls taking our total to over 2000 red listed Gulls chicks saved in the last 6 years.

Malibu is not taking any Chances with the flies 😆, everyone else is off grazing after dinner and he is still hiding in the shelter 😆 (fyi I haven’t actually seen any horse flies yet and the other horses don’t seem bothered so I’m hoping he doesn’t know something we don’t 😬)
