Bringing Awareness to Child Sexual Abuse: Reflections from the Brave Futures Conference

It's been a transformative week since our participation as Refocus_project Ltd & Breaking Better & Brave Futures and many more coming together at the conference. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Patsy Johnson-Cisse, Fundraiser, , for her dedicated efforts in shedding light on pressing issues affecting countless children. Each speaker delivered impactful discussions ranging from reforms within CPS and legal processes to sharing real-life narratives, underscoring the harsh reality that Brave Futures currently supports over 300 children.

"It's Not OK!"

Sexual abuse remains a taboo topic, with insufficient specialised services and inadequate funding to aid those affected. The prevalence of child crime and sexual abuse demands urgent attention, and as an organisation, we are committed to amplifying these issues.

Lennox Rodgers delivered a poignant speech, bravely sharing the profound impact of sexual violence on his life. His message of forgiveness and personal healing resonated deeply, inspiring us to prioritise our own liberation and recovery.

Very honoured to be invited back to once again raise awareness of sexual violence against me. A very real issue and not talked about enough. Men don’t talk, and are also locked in trauma, hidden in our prisons , mental institutes and in our community !

We have a few stall spaces left for the conference taking place on Friday 9th February at the UoS.

A really emotional experience today for all of us at Dartmoor prison filming with Warner Bro’s and Judge Rinder (Robert Michael) a documentary about the prison. A real blast from the past but also a reminder of how tough things where and how grateful I am 🙏. Then a huge treat to get to see Brian Greenaway
