Formed in 1981 by a group of Masons from diverse occupations & Masonic experience, we currently have 27 members with an age range from 34 to 86! Where do we meet? We meet at:
Dartford Masonic Centre
71 West Hill Dartford
DA1 2HJ
When do we meet? The Lodge meets formally 4 times a Year on the 1st Saturday in January, 4th Saturday in May, 2nd Saturday in July and 3rd Saturday in September. These m
eetings are followed by a dinner, the cost of which is included in your membership. Traditionally, our January meeting is followed by a dinner and social evening with entertainment where you can also invite partners, and non-Masonic guests. In addition to these meetings, we have a very strong Lodge of Instruction which is held every Thursday evening. This is an opportunity to practice whatever we are planning to do at the next Lodge meeting but more importantly, it gives you the opportunity to meet socially for a couple of hours and get to know the members. Why do we meet? At masonic meetings, we carry out ceremonies to Initiate new members & progress existing Masons through the further degrees in Masonry, install a new Master or receive a talk or lecture on aspects of Freemasonry if we have no other work to carry out. If you would like to progress within a Lodge, there are various offices that you can pass though on your way to being elected Master of the Lodge. This typically takes around 7 years. There are also other important roles that may be of interest you including Treasurer, Secretary, Director of Ceremonies, Charity Steward, Almoner, Mentor etc. Visits to other Lodges are a regular feature of Masonry in general with an opportunity to widen your circle even more. What social events do we have? We hold a Ladies night each year
(March /April) which is a black-tie event hosted by the Master and his Lady and also run the occasional Quiz night, Curry night or any other social events members may come up with! We’ve recently introduced a monthly Saturday morning breakfast club which is working well and members have participated in quiz nights, golf days & clay pigeon shooting. What Charities do we support? We are regular supporters of Masonic Charities, which assist not only Freemasons and their families, but also Charities based in our local communities: children’s charities, hospices, local schools etc. The incumbent Master each year adopts a Charity of his choice for the Lodge to support but Members can also identify local worthy causes worthy of support where our donations can have an immediate positive impact
