Thank you to all who attended our event yesterday at the Hlc Dartford. Great representation by our Sickle Cell, Diabetes, Strategy and EDI teams who were there to educate and inform & a huge thank you to the venue for putting on such a great day.

At this upcoming event for Black History Month, Dartford & Gravesham NHS Trust will be representing our Sickle Cell Disease & Diabetes services along with our executive team who will be presenting key points from our new strategy. Join us at the Healthy Living Centre Dartford on the 5th October for this food & wellbeing event in celebration of !

Please come along to our event on the 13th October 2023 at the Healthy Living Centre Dartford to promote our screening services at Darent Valley Hospital for our over 50's community. The event will also be attended by local charities and organizations who support older people. No ticket required so just pop in during the hours of 9.30 and 12!

Yesterday 16 staff (and Mila the dog) attended a group walk at Trosley Country Park in Vigo. Setting off at 11am after a coffee at the café, they took a circular walk in the woodland, the fields and villages, on one of the hottest days of the year and enjoyed a picnic lunch along the way.

This is part of our campaign to enhance staff wellbeing in collaboration with Charlton Athletic Community Trust. A huge thank you to everyone who attended despite the heat!🌞

Today at Darent Valley Hospital we welcome Citizen's Advice North West Kent, Thames Water, Digital Kent & Healthy Start who are promoting Kent County Council's Household Support Fund along with their individual services.

With the ongoing cost of living crisis times are tougher than ever, even for those in full-time employment. There are services available to help lighten the load and educate. The Household Support Fund offers a combination of food and energy vouchers for eligible households.

We have officially broken ground on our DGT Farms allotment project! Our vision is to create a community allotment open to our staff and patients where they can come to relax, plant and potter 🌱

Huge thanks to all the volunteers who showed their support including Dartford's Mayor, Councillor Rosanna Currans and representatives from the Hlc Dartford team! 🌳

In honour of South Asian Heritage Month, the Learning & Development Team collaborated with Staff Wellbeing & our DVH canteen to deliver fresh, hot samosas to staff. Along with the tea trolley was information regarding health conditions that affect the South Asian community that the staff could access via the provided QR codes. It was a great opportunity to spread awareness and tasty samosas! ❤️

Huge shout-out to our very brave staff who have taken on our abseiling challenge so far at the London Olympic Park: namely Louise Philpott, Jenny O'Brien, Hayley Robson, Lisa Gopinathan, Megan Wilton and Wendy Glazier. They have raised an impressive £1,277 that will go towards our NHS Trust Staff Wellbeing Fund and there are still more courageous abseilers to go! 🌥

On the 18th July our staff attended an activity day at Safari Park & Wild Animal Reserve funded by the Staff Wellbeing Fund. They took their time exploring the park and took part in the Truck Safari Trip Experience.

This is what a member of staff who attended had to say:

"We would like to thank you and your team for the day at Port Lympne yesterday. It was a fabulous day and we so enjoyed it. I have been there before but never in the summer months and it was great to see the animals out and about and the hotel grounds looking spectacular."
