Happy Easter!

This week will be a bit different to normal! During Easter it is traditional that the bells do not ring until Easter Sunday.
Luckily, the Church has allowed us to have a silent practice tonight! (Wednesday 1st April, 7pm until 9pm)
Below is a recent clip of what it is like to ring when the bells are fully muffled!

Yesterday we had a visiting band up the tower who produced some very nice ringing!

Today the tower will be open from 11am until 1pm for tower tours!

Afterwards we have Barnsley and District society visiting for their monthly ringing meeting so the bells will be ringing from 2pm onwards!

This week is our annual general meeting.We will still be ringing but only for a shorter time of 8-9pm!

Were the bells ringing on Tuesday?!

If you were around the Church on Tuesday you may have heard the faint sound of bells! To get extra practice for our learners we occasionally run extra practice nights but ‘silence’ the bells so we don’t disturb everyone.
As well as teaching new learners it also allowed our more experienced ringers to practice some small 3 bell methods!

Fancy learning to ring? Come along on a Thursday night from 7pm to see what it’s all about!
