Hi folks our CommunityLarder is on today 10am until 12noon. Our larder offers everyday food at 30% less than the supermarket prices. The larder is open to everyone who maybe finding times tough due to global conflict etc. Even if you are working you can still enjoy the 30% discount. You choose what you need just like a shop. Our volunteers are friendly and welcoming so come and have a look.

Job Vacancy: Sessional Gardening Assistant (Aged 17–21)
Organisation: The Zone Initiative Ltd, Dalmellington
Hours: 9.00am – 2.00pm (sessional) Contract: Until 30 September 2026

Pay: National Minimum Wage (age-appropriate rate)
We are looking for a motivated young person aged 17–21 to join our Gardening Team on a sessional basis. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working outdoors, learning practical skills, and contributing to improving local communities.

Main Duties • Cutting grass in domestic and community gardens • Strimming edges and pathways • General garden tidy-ups including lifting debris, sweeping, and clearing waste • Supporting the team with basic maintenance tasks • Following health and safety procedures at all times

What We’re Looking For • Reliable and willing to learn • Able to work outdoors in all-weather • Good timekeeping • Able to work as part of a small team • No previous experience required. • Safety conscious and able to follow instructions when using equipment such as lawnmower and strimmer.

We’re excited to say Bellsbank Adventure Playground now has a shiny new Fire Alarm System 😂 installed by Fortress. It took a bit longer than planned — apparently even fire alarms have diva-level parts requirements — but it’s now fully in place thanks to the brilliant support from South Kyle Wind Farm Trust.

The day is almost upon us, “Walk The Loch” is this Saturday. 🤩

We need to drive home these 3 points: all dogs must be kept on a leash, please pick up dog fouling and no littering of any sort.

Loch Doon is such a beautiful location, a real jewel in Ayrshires crown, please help us to keep it that way.
