Today we commemorate Anzac Day, the national day of Remembrance in Australia and New Zealand.

The 25th April marks the anniversary of the first major military action by the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps when they landed at Gallipoli in 1915. Please join us in pausing to remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice in this battle, and other battles since.

Today, the nation honours more than 53,000 British veterans who served in the Gulf War. 🇬🇧

It is 35 years since the UK Armed Forces played a major role in driving Iraqi forces from Kuwait, with 47 British personnel sadly losing their lives.

We will always remember them.
