🧭 Route in simple directions
🌿 Dalquharran Estate Trails – Dailly
Approx 3.6 miles | Dog Friendly | Buggy/Wheel Friendly (some stoney/muddy bits)
Looking for a stunning local walk with castle ruins, riverside paths and Rural Ayrshire views? This loop around the Dalquharran Estate has it all. ✨

Start: Directly across from Dailly Primary School (KA26 9SB) , look for the Estate Trails sign.

➡️ Enter the trail and turn right
➡️ Follow the path with the Water of Girvan on your left
➡️ Continue to the futuristic footbridge
➡️ Cross the bridge and turn right
➡️ Follow the red arrows for the long loop
➡️ Pass the old Dalquharran Castle (1500s)
➡️ Continue on the red markers as the path bends left into the trees
➡️ Climb the short undulating section towards the ‘new’ Castle (1700s)
➡️ Stay on the red‑arrow trail as it loops round the estate
➡️ Enjoy the brilliant viewpoint where both castles come into sight on the return to the village

📝 Good to know
Only one bin at the start ,please carry out any rubbish
Street parking only, be mindful of residents
Toilets available at Dailly Community Centre (weekdays)
Morrison’s Daily just round the corner for snacks
Great for bird watching, ancient trees & peaceful riverside wandering

A brilliant walk for families, dog walkers and anyone exploring South Ayrshire’s history and scenery. Highly recommend! 💚🌄
