Smallholding, stable or rural home wanted for Freya 🌾🚜

Can anyone offer Freya a smallholding, farm, stable yard or rural home within around an hour of the sanctuary?

Freya is an independent girl who isn't suited to domestic life and is looking for a safe outdoor home where she can live on her own terms. She isn't seeking human companionship and would much rather be appreciated from afar while enjoying the freedom and space she craves.

Freya is neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. She is also a cat flu carrier and, unfortunately, the stress of sanctuary life is currently causing flare-ups, leaving her with runny eyes. We believe that a quieter environment and the fresh air of a rural home would greatly benefit her wellbeing and help her feel more comfortable.

Freya will need:

• A safe, draught-free shelter to sleep in
• Fresh food and water provided daily
• Routine worming and de-fleaing

In return, Freya's presence alone can help deter rodents, and she may even put her hunting skills to good use around the property.

We adore Freya, but we know she isn't happy living in the sanctuary environment and is unlikely to be chosen through traditional adoption routes. What she needs is a patient, understanding home where she can simply be herself.

If you own or know of a suitable smallholding, farm, stable yard or rural property within around an hour of the sanctuary that could offer Freya a safe place to call home, please get in touch.

Please share far and wide to help us find this special girl the home she deserves🩵

Pws Pws 🐱

We’re looking for a long-term foster home for our 12 year old Pws Pws.

Pws Pws was originally adopted from us many years ago, but came back into our care in March due to a change in circumstances.

Since being back with us, she had a much needed dental surgery, and afterwards sadly needed several vet visits – first for an infection, and then again due to dehydration and not wanting to eat.

She has thankfully made a full recovery and has had no further issues since.

She does have a grade 3 heart murmur, which isnt affecting her at present. She has previously had very dirty ears so may require cleaning in the future.

If you think you could offer Pws Pws a peaceful retirement home, please get in touch with us.

Please share to help her find the perfect lap to call her own 🩵

Could You Help Shima & Yuki Learn to Trust? 🩵

Shima and Yuki are 10 weeks old and looking for a foster home together.

Shima is already showing signs of gaining confidence and is much less hissy than his/her sister/brother (genders to be confirmed!), so we think Shima come around quite quickly. Yuki is still more fearful and will need a little extra time and patience, but that's exactly why we'd love to keep them together.

Having a more confident kitten alongside a nervous one can make a huge difference, and we expect Shima's progress will help Yuki learn that people aren't so scary after all. They take comfort from each other and are closely bonded, so we're looking for a fosterer who can welcome them both🐾🥰

To foster these kittens, you'll need:

🫶 A spare room – they must be kept separate from other pets while they settle in and build confidence at their own pace.

🫶 Time for regular interaction – short, frequent sessions throughout the day can make a huge difference to their progress.

🫶 Patience with fearful behaviour – expect hissing, spitting, or swiping at first as they learn to trust.

🫶 To live within 30 minutes of Afon Vets in Afon Veterinary Centre.

If you have a spare room, some time to give, and the patience to help a frightened kitten learn to trust, we'd love to hear from you. Please complete the fostering application linked in the comments. 🩵

Dewi & Idris 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

Sadly these boys are still with us and are now
Dewi and Idris are now 14 weeks old and have been microchipped, health checked, and fully vaccinated.

These boys are very bonded and will need to be adopted together.

We did previously have one little issue with them, they had a habit of peeing in their bed and on their blankets. After a bit of trial and error, we discovered they much prefer a deep litter tray with plenty of litter, and since making that change they have been wonderfully clean boys.

They are such fun, affectionate, and lovable kittens who have waited far too long for a home of their own. We would love to see them start their next adventure together with a family who will cherish them.

Please share to help Dewi and Idris find their forever home🩵

🚨 Weekend Wrapped🚨

What a week it's been!

This week, we welcomed a beautiful mum cat and her single kitten into our care after they had been living outside. Mum is understandably frightened and unsocialised, but we're already seeing little signs that she may learn to trust us in time. Her kitten is doing brilliantly and settling in well.

We also received an incredible 150kg of biscuits! A huge thank you to Yummypets and everyone who clicked for us throughout last month. Brodie is pictured with just a couple of the bags — they were far too heavy to line them all up😹

We also put out a call for Untamed food for Coco, and as always, our amazing supporters rallied around. It's safe to say Coco will be eating very well for the foreseeable future! Thank you to everyone who donated to ensure she has enough of her favourite food 🍽️

Yesterday, we held our very first bucket collection day at Jollyes Swansea - The Pet People and raised an amazing £73. That's enough to cover the cost of a spay at our vet. We hope to organise another collection day in the future. On top of that, Jollyes and their generous customers donated two trolley loads of food to help feed the cats in our care. Thank you so much to Jollyes for having us and to everyone who stopped by to support us🐾

We'd also like to say a huge thank you to Tesco Maesteg for their generous food donations this week. Support like this helps keep our shelves stocked and ensures the cats in our care have everything they need.

Big thanks to Pets At Home Port Talbot for the very generous food donation. We have been lucky to have such great donations this week.

Today, we met a lovely couple who have joined us as new fosterers and have welcomed little Neko into their home. Neko was one of the kittens our volunteers trapped in Maesteg not long ago. We are desperately in need of more fosterers right now, so if you've ever thought about fostering, please get in touch, you could make all the difference to a frightened kitten.

Sadly, this week we also had to say goodnight to our gorgeous Felix💔 While Felix never got the chance to find his forever home, he was loved and cared for during his time with us. His brothers, Sam and Jack, are still searching for a forever foster home where they can stay together.

As always, rescue is a mixture of highs and lows. We celebrate the kindness and generosity of our supporters, the new beginnings for cats entering care, and the happy milestones along the way. But we also feel the heartbreak that comes with saying goodbye.

Thank you to everyone who continues to support us, donate, foster, adopt, share our posts, and cheer us on. We couldn't do any of this without you🩵

Wales is being left behind when it comes to protecting cats.

We see first-hand the difference microchipping makes. Time and time again, we have been able to reunite lost cats with their owners because a microchip allowed us to identify them quickly. Without one, many cats remain unclaimed, leaving families devastated and rescues stretched even further.

In England, mandatory cat microchipping became law in 2024. Yet in Wales, microchipping is still only recommended, not required.

A new Senedd petition is calling on the Welsh Government to introduce mandatory microchipping for cats in Wales:

Microchipping is a simple, safe and effective way to give lost, injured or stolen cats the best possible chance of finding their way home. It is one of the most important tools we have for protecting cats and supporting responsible ownership.

Please take a minute to:
🐱 Sign the petition
🐱 Encourage friends and family across Wales to do the same

Every signature helps show that Wales wants the same protection for cats that already exists in England.

Together, we can help ensure more lost cats are reunited with the people who love them🩵

Our previous petition and campaigning on this issue saw the Welsh Government commit to consider mandatory microchipping in it's published Animal Welfare Plan for Wales 2021-26. This has not happened. Microchipping is part of responsible pet ownership and has countless benefits for both cat and owner...

Coco Needs Your Help 🤎

Poor Coco is having a particularly difficult time at the moment.

This sweet girl suffers from severe skin issues that leave her incredibly itchy, and her skin is so thin and delicate that she currently has to wear a double barricade of collars to stop her from scratching herself and causing further damage.

After lots of trial and error, we've finally found a grain free food that she will eat and in turn will help us manage her condition - Untamed chicken in gravy.

Of course, the food she loves happens to be one of the fanciest options available!

We're wondering whether anyone might have some Untamed in gravy tucked away that their own cat didn't take to, or perhaps a subscription delivery that wasn't a hit with their feline friend. Rather than letting it sit in a cupboard, it could make a huge difference to Coco.

Any tins would be greatly appreciated and would help us keep this special girl comfortable and well-fed while we continue to manage her skin condition.

Please share—you never know who might have some spare that Coco would happily gobble up!

Thank you🩵🩵🩵
