🌟 Parade Entry: 1st Cwm Scout Group – Mission to Space 🌟

What an incredible day for 1st Cwm Scout Group at Cwm Carnival 2026! 🚀👨‍🚀👽

We are absolutely delighted and incredibly proud to announce that our “Mission to Space” entry WON the Parade Float competition! 🏆🎉

A huge thank you to all our amazing parents, young people and volunteers who gave up their time and worked so hard to make this happen — from preparing and decorating the float, setting everything up, and making sure all our young people had their fantastic costumes ready for the big day. Your support and commitment made this possible. ❤️

Cwm Carnival is always a big day in the group calendar, and we are so proud to take part in such a fantastic community event year after year. It was brilliant to see our young people enjoying themselves, getting involved and representing 1st Cwm Scout Group with such enthusiasm. 🌟

A very special thank you to our driver for the day, Matthew Morgan of H. Morgan Haulage, for helping us get our Mission to Space safely on the road! 🚛🚀

Congratulations to everyone involved — what a fantastic achievement! 🏆🌌

🎨🚜 Carnival prep is officially underway! 🚜🎨

Last night our amazing Squirrels got creative designing part of this year’s float entry for the Cwm Carnival — and they absolutely smashed it! 🐿️👏

From colourful ideas to brilliant teamwork, it was fantastic to see their imaginations come to life. We can’t wait for everyone in the community to see the finished float on carnival day! 🎉

Who’s excited for Cwm Carnival this year? 🙋‍♀️🙋‍♂️
Drop a 🎭 in the comments if you’ll be there!

And if you spot our float on the day, make sure to give our young people a wave 👋💚

Happy Valentine's Day from us to you!

Roses are red,
Violets are blue,
We’ve got Scouts across Wales,
And we’re pretty proud of you ❤️

From muddy boots and campfires,
To badges, laughs and rain,
To young people finding their voice,
In sunshine… and again in rain ☔ (well, we are in Wales!)

This Valentine’s Day, we’re sharing the love,
With all who play their part,
Young people, volunteers, supporters and friends,
Helping confidence and friendships start 💖

Squirrels Drey – Waiting List Update 🐿️

Last year, some young people were waiting up to 8 months to join our Squirrels Drey, with many only able to start when they moved up into Beavers. We know how important it is for young people to get involved as early as possible, so we’ve been reviewing our waiting list and section numbers.

Following our recent waiting list review, we’re pleased to share an update on upcoming availability in our Squirrels Drey.

We currently have:
• 3 spaces available now
• 2 spaces becoming available in June
• 2 spaces becoming available in August

All places will be offered in order of priority from our waiting list, and we’ll be contacting families directly as spaces become available. If your young person isn’t already on the list, you can still add them at any time.

Thank you for your continued patience and support — we’re looking forward to welcoming more young people into Squirrels soon!
