Squirrels Drey – Waiting List Update 🐿️

Last year, some young people were waiting up to 8 months to join our Squirrels Drey, with many only able to start when they moved up into Beavers. We know how important it is for young people to get involved as early as possible, so we’ve been reviewing our waiting list and section numbers.

Following our recent waiting list review, we’re pleased to share an update on upcoming availability in our Squirrels Drey.

We currently have:
• 3 spaces available now
• 2 spaces becoming available in June
• 2 spaces becoming available in August

All places will be offered in order of priority from our waiting list, and we’ll be contacting families directly as spaces become available. If your young person isn’t already on the list, you can still add them at any time.

Thank you for your continued patience and support — we’re looking forward to welcoming more young people into Squirrels soon!

🎄 Safe Travels, Scouting Elves! 🎄
Our UK Scouting Elves have officially packed up their kit and begun their journey back to the North Pole!
After an action-packed 4-day winter camp, the elves spent yesterday busily striking camp and making sure everything was "left better than they found it." In true Scouting fashion, even their chores turned into an adventure—once they finished cleaning their brooms, they took to the skies on them for the long flight home! 🧹✨

A Final Farewell for the Year
With the elves now en route to see Santa, all our sections have finished their meetings for 2025. It has been a year full of adventure, new skills, and friendship.
We would like to say a massive THANK YOU and wish a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to:
• Our Incredible Leaders: For your endless energy and dedication.
• Our Young People: For your curiosity and spirit of adventure.
• Our Parents & Families: For your continued support and for getting everyone to camp on time!

🧝‍♂️ Elf Scout Adventure Update – 4 Days, One Big Expedition! 🧝‍♀️

Apologies for the radio silence – our Elf Scouts have been well and truly on camp! Over the last 4 days, Squirrels, Beavers, Cubs and Scouts have been busy on a full-on festive expedition and didn’t stop long enough to send a report back to HQ.

🐿️ Day 1 – Squirrels
The Squirrels kicked things off by following trail signs through the woodland, learning how to track footprints, collect natural materials and work together in their drey teams. Lots of teamwork, curiosity and wide-eyed exploration!

🦫 Day 2 – Beavers
Beavers took charge next, building mini shelters, practising knot-tying and completing a festive challenge badge quest. There may also have been a campfire singalong and more hot chocolate than strictly necessary ☕🔥

🐺 Day 3 – Cubs
Cubs planned the route, used map skills, cooked up a storm with some backwoods-style snacks, and completed a wide game that tested their agility, problem-solving and ability to stay quiet (mostly 😉).

🧭 Day 4 – Scouts
Scouts led the final leg of the adventure with navigation challenges, pioneering projects, and a service task to spread a little Christmas cheer. Leadership, resilience and teamwork all on full display.

After four days of adventure, learning, helping others and having fun, the Elf Scouts are back, tired but proud, and already planning the next mission.

🌟 Promise made. Skills learned. Memories earned. 🌟
