We’re delighted to be featuring in this Sunday’s episode of Countryfile at 6.15pm on BBC One 🌱

Tune in to discover more about St Lawrence Field Nature Reserve on the Isle of Wight, and find out more about the rare plant species this reserve protects.

It promises to be a brilliant episode, with our friends at the National Trust Isle of Wight , The Garlic Farm and Trust Super Champion, Theo Vickers Marine Wildlife Photography also being featured – don’t miss it!

This beautiful moth is a striped hawk-moth.

✈️ They're migrants to our shores arriving from southern Europe. They're a fairly uncommon find and usually only found in southern UK.

You may have seen our new style scratching... ughumm.... signage popping up around our nature reserves, they seem to very popular with our ponies 🐴

πŸ’ These signs are more than just excellent scratching posts, they provide great information on each reserve, the wildlife that can be found there, walking routes and much more.

Next time you visit one of our reserves take a moment to stop and have a read.

πŸ¦‹ Our amazing volunteers on the Isle of Wight have been busy this month carrying out butterfly surveys across some of our nature reserves!

They were lucky enough to spot Glanville fritalleries on Arreton Down Nature Reserve 🀩

Thank you to all of our amazing volunteers, helping to protect and restore nature across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight. If you're interested in volunteering head to our website. We have lots of opportunities to get involved! πŸ‘‡

Our amazing Solent Seagrass Champions donated an incredible 1,328 hours of their time in 2025 to support our seagrass restoration efforts 🌱

πŸ’š From seagrass surveys and seed collection, to sorting and planting across the Hampshire and Isle of Wight coastline, our volunteers are involved every step of the way. Thanks to their enthusiasm and support, we collected and planted over 195,000 seagrass seeds this spring, which is more than 3.5 times last year’s total!

πŸ™ We couldn’t do this work without the support of the local community and our dedicated volunteers. A huge thank you.

πŸŽ‰ This week is National Volunteering Week so we would like to take the chance to celebrate all the amazing people that volunteer across all our work.

πŸ’ͺ From balsam bashing to seagrass sorting, educating to gardening, surveying to construction, and everything in-between, our work simply would not be possible without all of our incredible volunteers.

πŸ™ We would like to say a huge thank you to each and every one of them!
