Castle Furniture Project

Castle Furniture Project Castle Furniture Project is a charitable organisation which exists to relieve poverty and distress Everything in store is recycled and quality tested.

Castle Enterprise operates various award winning projects, all with the aim to help those in the local community by providing low-cost and recycled household goods. CASTLE FURNITURE PROJECT (HEAD OFFICE) - Our Cupar branch and head office is sometimes more like an Aladdin's Cave than a business, you never quite know what your going to find! This branch has everything from sofas, to washing machine

s, to paintings, to pianos. We are able to restore furniture so as to re use as much as possible. We even provide a 20% discount to those with proof of benefit status. So no matter what you’re looking for, think green and make us the first port of call for all your household needs! MOTORVATORS - Motorvators takes old and damaged Volkswagen vehicles and completely rejuvenates them. Working with those with mental health issues as well as those with a passion for mechanics, this is an incredible project to look in on if you’re down at our head office. These vehicles are in great working condition and open to hire by the public. DONATE - The work at Castle really relies on your donations. We work hard to save whatever we can for landfill. We are more than happy to provide a collection service to take your unwanted household appliances off your hands. VOLUNTEERS - This project currently needs you! Not only will you benefit from our amazing projects but its fun too. There are many roles to play such as driving the vehicles, working in the warehouse or becoming one of our workshop workers. Our supported work placements offer those leading chaotic a first step to recovery. Our furniture restoration/ art group is a wonderful opportunity for those with enduring mental health issues and provides them with a therapeutic and creative output. Meet Teddy, the newest member of the Castle team! 💚

Dressed and ready for work, Teddy will be helping us shine a spotlight on the many services available through Castle Furniture Project.

Over the coming weeks, he’ll be visiting different projects, meeting staff and volunteers, and helping us tell the story of how furniture reuse supports people across our community.

He’s also already proving to be quite popular… we might have something fun planned around his name, so keep your eyes peeled 👀💚

First stop… where should Teddy visit?

💚 "You just sell furniture, right?"

It's something we hear quite often.

While furniture reuse is a huge part of what we do, it's only part of the story.

Every donation received, every item reused and every purchase made in our stores helps support the wider work of Castle Furniture Project.

Through our charity, we provide services including:

🤝 Befriending Support

☕ A welcoming Drop-In Lounge

🛋️ An Essential Items Hub

🌱 Volunteering Opportunities

🧠 Mental Health and Wellbeing Support

The furniture you donate or buy doesn't just stay out of landfill—it helps us create opportunities, reduce isolation and support people throughout our community.

So next time you visit one of our stores, remember: you're not just buying furniture.

You're helping us support people across Fife.

💚 Thank you for being part of the Castle community.

🌟 Volunteers' Week 2026 🌟

As part of Volunteers' Week, we'd like to say a huge thank you to all of our volunteers for the time, energy and dedication they give to Castle Furniture Project.

Members of our team and volunteers were out in the Kingdom Centre, speaking with the local community about the opportunities available to volunteer with us and the difference volunteering can make.

Our volunteers play a vital role in supporting people across our communities, helping us provide practical support, reduce isolation and make a positive impact on the lives of those who need it most.

If you've ever thought about volunteering and would like to learn more, we'd love to hear from you. You can find out about our current opportunities here:

A lovely afternoon in the sunshine for our lunch club members in Tayport, full of laughter, games, friendship and connection. ☀️🎲

Services like this are so much more than a social outing; for many older people, they are a real lifeline. Regular social interaction can play an important role in protecting mental wellbeing and supporting cognitive health as we age. Research has shown that older adults with stronger social connections experience slower rates of cognitive decline, with frequent social activity linked to a significantly lower risk of dementia.

Weekly groups like ours help reduce loneliness, build confidence and create meaningful friendships, proving that it is never too late to benefit from connection and community. 💛

If you or a loved one could benefit from a serviced like this contact us on 01592 501068 or email us at: [email protected].

Supporting someone through a mental health crisis or a really difficult time can be emotionally exhausting. While we often focus on helping our loved ones, it’s just as important to look after yourself too 💚

Here are a few reminders for anyone supporting a partner, friend or family member:

✨ You are allowed to take breaks
✨ You cannot pour from an empty cup
✨ Sleep, food, fresh air and routine matter for you too
✨ Talk to someone you trust about how you’re feeling
✨ Set healthy boundaries without guilt
✨ You do not have to have all the answers
✨ Small moments of self-care are important, not selfish

Being there for someone is incredibly valuable — but your wellbeing matters too.

If you or someone you care about needs support in Scotland, these organisations can help:

📞 Samaritans – 116 123 (24/7 free support)
📞 NHS 24 Mental Health Hub – 111
📞 Breathing Space – 0800 83 85 87
📞 Scottish Action for Mental Health (SAMH) – 0344 800 0550

Please remember: asking for help is a sign of strength, never weakness 💚

💚 Did you know your donations can help individuals and families turn an empty house into a home?

A donated sofa, dining table or bed can make a huge difference to people starting over, moving into a new tenancy or facing difficult circumstances.

Every item donated to Castle Furniture helps support local people across Fife while giving quality furniture a second life.

Thank you to everyone who continues to donate, support and spread kindness in our community. 🏠

Volunteer Spotlight 💚

We want to take a moment to thank one of our fabulous volunteers, Roland.

Roland has supported the team exponentially with his fantastic organisation, his kind and compassionate energy, and his hard work and dedication.

He can turn his hand to anything. After helping organise our warehouse, Roland has now moved on to painting and helping create a warm and inviting space for our service users to come into.

He continuously goes above and beyond, and we can’t thank him enough for everything he does.

Thank you, Roland 💚
