Well this is great news for the River Eden! Another step in our dream for a source to sea solution for our most invasive species causing damage to the river environment AND jobs created in the local community. Please share with anyone you think might be interested.

📢 We're hiring! 📢

We are looking for a Project Officer to join our team and lead an exciting expansion of our work to South Tayside and North Fife - a new area in the project!

This is a challenging and exciting role where you will have the opportunity to make a difference to local river ecosystems and contribute to the largest invasive non-native species control project in Great Britain. 🌊🌱🐾

This role is based with the Tay District Salmon Fishery Board, covering the rivers Earn and Eden and tributaries. It is a full time, fixed contract to March 2028 - with the possibility of extension dependent on future funding.

Closing date: 12 noon Monday 23 February
Interviews: Wednesday 04 March (on Teams)

Well done Tayanne Corbani and St Andrews Aquarium for representing the partnership at Westminster for the BIAZA awards!

Last night was an important evening for conservation 🌍

Keeper Tayanne was delighted to attend the BIAZA Awards at Speaker’s House in London, celebrating the incredible conservation work being carried out by zoos and aquariums across the UK.

The evening was truly inspiring, showcasing impactful projects from across the sector and highlighting the vital role our community plays in protecting wildlife, restoring habitats, and safeguarding ecosystems for the future.

We were especially proud to attend following our nomination for our partnership with RESP (River Eden Fife), which focuses on water quality testing along the River Eden in Fife. This collaborative work is helping to improve understanding of freshwater health and support positive action for local wildlife and communities.

Events like this remind us that conservation begins locally but has far-reaching impact when we work together. 💚

Happy to be involved in the making of this film and carrying out this wee project which makes a small contribution to holding back water and silt on the Moor Road in Cupar. Thanks to Crown Estate Scotland for the generous Environment Grant to the Eden Angling Association which made it possible and to all the many others involved: Tay Rivers Trust offering the time and expertise of Project Officer Andy Sides, Fife Council's Duncan Sharp for sourcing Community Benefit support (lots of rock!) from Realm Construction, Cupar Golf Course for plant storage space during the works, contractors Niall Johnston for great digger work and the farmers who supported with time, permissions, advice and even some land to plant trees!

The town of Cupar has been hit hard by flooding in recent years. Learn how local groups, working in partnership have taken concrete steps to address the problem…
