I've never been slow to apologise and admit my mistakes. It's not just an apology that matters though. You have to fix the mistake, not let it fester and do your best not to repeat the mistake.
One of the hardest truths to accept in life is that not everyone chooses growth.🤔
Some people go through life without ever truly reflecting on their actions. They repeat the same patterns, make the same mistakes, and avoid taking responsibility for the harm they cause. Instead of learning, they defend. Instead of changing, they justify. Instead of acknowledging fault, they shift blame.
This is not always because they cannot grow, but often because they choose not to.
And that realization can be painful.
You may wait for an apology that never comes. You may hope for change that never arrives. You may expect accountability that they are not willing to give. But the truth is, not everyone has the capacity or willingness to confront their own behavior.
Understanding this can save you from unnecessary disappointment.
Not every situation will be resolved through closure from others. Sometimes, your peace comes from acceptance, not apology. From distance, not resolution. From letting go, not holding on.
Growth is a choice, and when someone refuses to choose it, you cannot do it for them.
“What you have to understand is that some people never really grow. They never learn their lesson. They never recognize their mistakes, they never acknowledge their faults, and they never admit they were in the wrong.
You will never receive an apology from them, and you will never see their behavior change.”
