🏕️ What a Fantastic District Cub Camp! 🏕️

A huge well done to every Cub who took part this weekend. You should all be incredibly proud of yourselves. From trying new activities and making new friends to building confidence and resilience, you’ve all shown exactly what Scouting is about.

👏 BRAVO to all of our volunteer leaders and helpers who gave up their time to make the camp possible. Events like this don’t happen by accident. They happen because dedicated volunteers give their evenings, weekends, and holidays so that young people can develop .

🚚 A special thank you also goes to GRE Ltd. Thermal Engineering and Cryogenic cooling for helping transport our equipment to and from camp.

We’re always looking for new volunteers to join our team. Whether you can help every week, occasionally, or behind the scenes, there’s a role for everyone. More volunteers means more opportunities, more adventures, and more young people benefiting from Scouting.

❤️ HELP KEEP OUR COMMUNITY DEFIBRILLATOR EMERGENCY READY ❤️

Did you know that Cullompton Scout Group funds and maintains a public-access defibrillator outside the Scout Centre, available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year?

Since it was installed in 2021, the AED has been deployed on five occasions in response to medical emergencies within our community.

Like any piece of life-saving equipment, it requires ongoing maintenance. Batteries and electrode pads have limited lifespans and can be expensive to replace. We have recently incurred significant costs replacing key components to ensure the unit remains rescue-ready.

To help secure its future, we have launched the Cullompton Scout Group Community Defibrillator Fund.

Every penny raised will be ring-fenced exclusively for the public-access AED and used for maintenance, servicing, replacement batteries, pads and future equipment costs.

We hope it is never needed, but if the day comes when someone needs it, we want it to be ready.

A cracking end to the year 🎄

Our Christmas Party was a brilliant way to round off another fantastic term for the group. It’s been full of energy, laughter, challenges, and the kind of experiences that help young people grow in confidence and character.

None of this happens by accident. It’s down to a committed team of volunteers who turn up week in, week out, work together, and quietly set the standards that make this group what it is. The teamwork, care, and effort behind the scenes really do make a difference.

We’re now pausing for a well-earned Christmas break before coming back refreshed and ready for the new term. Thank you to everyone who supports the group and helps give our young people such a positive Scouting experience.

It must be getting close to Christmas… our Scout Group has set up camp at Cullompton Tesco today! ⛺🛒

We’re raising funds for our much-needed Scout Hut and helping pack bags for shoppers who are clearly braver than we are for tackling the festive food run this early. 🎄💪

If you’re passing, come say hello, let us lighten the load at the checkout, and forgive us in advance if we pack your sprouts with your mince pies. Every smile, every coin, and every slightly squashed loaf helps! 😄✨
