We have just sent out our first newsletter and want to thank those who have already become a member.

To get a sense of what we are all about, we created this animation. We believe it's good to have a connection with wildlife. Whether that's as an individual or a community. However, we also believe it's important to connect with other people and build a community. Our new group hopes to encompass all of these connections, to support both people and wildlife.

Today we had our first members-only event and celebrated London Rivers Week.

We got to know our local river- the River Wandle, which is a chalk stream.

We started our walk by visiting Abbeymills Market, then walking along the river to the Morden Hall Park boardwalk and finishing the walk with a drink at the Surrey Arms.

Thank you to Chris, one of our members, for leading this walk.

We want to build a community to help connect people and wildlife 🫢🏽

Why not take part this weekend πŸ¦‡

The official Sunset Survey Weekend is here! Take part and help us find out if you have bats in your area.

Anyone can take part. Yes, anyone. Whether you are 10 or 100+, live in the city or deep in the countryside, know lots about bats or nothing at all. More info: www.bats.org.uk/sunset-survey .

All you have to do is sit in your garden or local park for 1h and record any and all wildlife you see.

We were pleased to welcome 39 attendees across the two evenings and were excited to record sightings of three different species of bats. πŸ¦‡ We participated in the Bat Conservation Trust Sunset survey and have submitted all our results.

We are very grateful to Friends of Mitcham Common for lending us their bat detectors, and to Joseph for leading these walks.
