We loved hearing about hedgehogs today. It was a great presentation from Jo & Terry from Prickle Lodge Hedgehog Rescue. They go to amazing efforts washing and treating sick hedgehogs back to health. I am still imagining Jo spending over an hour a day watching hedgehog CCTV to spot whether the animals are getting better or worse.

To support hedgehogs ~ DO
*Put out meat based kitten kibble every day against boundaries (ideally under cover)
*Provide water in shallow heavy container or shallow pond with access ramps
* Leave areas of your garden wilder or leave logs piles - hedgehogs love caterpillars and beetles
* use closed compost bins

To protect hedgehogs ~ DON’T
* Use a strimmer, but if you must check for sleeping hedgehogs first
* Make bonfires or if you do build them and light them straight away.

One of lovely volunteer helpers who has been with us for 20 years during her retirement, now has to relinquish her role.

Her help with making teas and coffees for our members on a Thursday morning once at month at The Morgan Centre, has been invaluable!

Could you be our next wonderful volunteer?

We would love to hear from you if you can help.
