I’ve had a lot of messages asking why I haven’t posted about the Brighton beach r**e case.

Truth is, this one got to me.
Not because I didn’t care.
Because I cared too much.

Brighton beach is close to home for me.
My child walks around there.
Families walk there.
Young people walk there.

And when you read what happened, it stops being “just another news story”.

It becomes that horrible thought every parent has.
“What if that was someone I loved?”
Three men have now been found guilty after a woman was r**ed on Brighton beach. Reports say they were asylum seekers living in Home Office approved accommodation.

That raises serious questions.
Who checked them?
Who housed them?
Who was responsible for public safety?

This is not about stirring hatred.
It is about protecting people.

Women should be safe.
Our children should be safe.
Our communities should not be expected to carry the consequences of failed decisions.

The victim deserved better.
Brighton deserved better.
Britain deserves better.

Do you recognise this man?

Officers would like to speak to him in connection with enquiries following a sexual assault on a Brighton bus.

The incident took place on the 46 bus to Hollingbury on Wednesday 25 March at around 5pm.

It was reported that the bus was travelling in Ditchling Road when the victim, a 14-year-old girl, was approached by a man who sat next to her and touched her inappropriately.

The man reportedly disembarked the bus at Friar Road.

He was described as aged in his 20's, roughly 6' and wearing shorts and sandals.

Officers are continuing to pursue a number of lines of enquiry in an ongoing investigation.

We encourage anyone who recognises this man, who witnessed the incident, or who has relevant information such as mobile footage is encouraged to report it to us.
