This week is the end of the school term in Zambia. Later in the month we will receive the end of term reports from the four schools and a more detailed account of what is happening will be provided.
At the moment, the ground floor of the new Modern City School has been in use by the older children since February. The younger children are still having lessons in the old buildings.
CLinC is fundraising as hard as it can to raise money to build the second floor of the new school. The Easter Coffee morning raised around £600 which was a good start! Next week we have a 'Pre-loved' sale St Cromhall Village Hall- a new venture! Local people have been very generous with their donations and we have some really good items for sale. We hope the turnout will be good.
The money for the borehole and tank stand has reached St Mark's School account and hopefully the drilling will be done during the four week holiday starting next week. There will be photos in the May newsletter. This will ensure that there will be a good supply of water all year round and avoid the need to close school as happened on several days last year. The sale of water to local families will also bring in money for the school. Another small step towards becoming self-sufficient!
Thank you all for your continued support.
