This Sunday (22nd Feb) is National Walk Your Dog Day 🐾

To celebrate, a brilliant group of local dog owners are meeting at 3pm on the Promenade (outside North Sea Coffee / The Point Contemporary Gallery / Whitewater) for a relaxed community dog walk.

Expect wagging tails, seaside zoomies, and plenty of friendly faces. It’s the perfect excuse to catch up with friends, meet fellow dog lovers, and let the dogs enjoy the beach at low tide. There may be a hint of rain, but nothing a post-walk hot chocolate (or something stronger) can’t fix.

Everyone is welcome. You don’t need to be a Cromer resident to join in. Why not make an afternoon of it and stop by some of Cromer’s fantastic dog-friendly cafĆ©s and shops before heading down to the promenade to meet the pack at 3pm.

A quick note to keep things safe and enjoyable for everyone:

You know your dog best, so please keep them on a lead if they’re likely to get over-excited or wander off. With plenty of dogs attending, the meet-up may not be suitable for nervous or reactive dogs. Please clean up after your dog, and be mindful that not everyone is comfortable around dogs. A little consideration goes a long way in making this a great experience for all. Please note this event isn’t affiliated with any Cromer business - it’s just a group of people getting together in the spirit of loving the town (and its dogs)

We can’t wait to see Cromer’s four-legged community out in force. šŸ’™šŸ•šŸ¦®šŸ•ā€šŸ¦ŗšŸ©

Let us know in the comments if you’ll be coming along.

Independent businesses are the heart and soul of so many towns up and down the UK, and nowhere more so than Cromer.

For the past month, over a hundred independent businesses and other organisations in Cromer have been working their socks off to put together a new campaign to showcase just how amazing Cromer is.

Across the rest of February and March, the incredible people behind Cromer’s shops, cafe’s, restaurants, bars, galleries, activity centres, attractions and Hotels/B&Bs will be running a series of events and experiences. Many of these will be free, and it all starts this weekend for Valentine’s and leading into next week for Half-Term.

There’s going to be so many opportunities for you to find your perfect time to visit Cromer.

There will be events and experiences suitable for everyone no matter your age and whether you’re a local or visiting our beautiful town.

And when the campaign comes to an end in March, Visit Cromer’s new website (link in bio) and social media will continue to be the official home of everything that’s going on in Cromer.

A huge thank you to everyone who has donated towards the costs of the event either in the bucket collection, via The Go Fund Me page or by a donation made direct to Cromer Town Council. The current total will be revealed early next week.

The total cost of putting on the event (including the cost of the display) is nudging £18k so every donation large or small is very gratefully received.

You can still donate online or in one of the many donation pots in the businesses around the town. Donations can also be made at North Lodge during office hours.

Cllr. Pat West, Chairman of the New Year’s Day Fireworks committee, said that the event was, as always, very well received and that the town was exceptionally busy, and probably the busiest ever. Numerous comments are being received thanking the town, and of course Titanium Fireworks Ltd, for a fabulous display to start the new year.

Pat voiced thanks to all the volunteers who give up their time freely to work on this and other events throughout the year. Without the help of the volunteers, Councillors, Officers and the support of members of the public and local businesses, these events would not be possible.

Special thanks are given to North Norfolk District Council for the use of the Pier and their sponsorship of the display finale which saw fireworks exploding out of the sea. The finale celebrates the start of the 125th anniversary year of Cromer Pier.

The New Year’s Day Fireworks event relies heavily on donations which can still be made via the Go Fund Me page.
