Merchants' Place

Merchants' Place An independent, non-profit organisation in Cromer that offers essential services to the community.

The centre is a successful part of the community, offering access to essential services for the people of Cromer and the surrounding areas. We act as a Community Hub by offering a Community Larder, comprehensive sign posting service (covering areas such as volunteer support), business start-up, essential local advice services, training opportunities and adult learning courses. It is widely used by

other agencies such as Adult Learning, Opening Doors and Specsavers Hearcare. To compliment these services we also offer flexible office space for individuals and small businesses - whether you need just a desk space, or a fully serviced work station we tailor to your needs. We have a range of rooms to hire from one to one interview rooms, to larger meeting rooms and a fully equipped IT suite for business and community use.

04/6/26: CROMER COMMUNITY FRIDGE UPDATE - Summer opening times.

From Monday 8th June until Monday 14th September the fridge will be closed on Mondays and Fridays.

The Fridge opens at 10am and we ask fridge users not to visit before this time, you will be asked to come back after 10am. Early mornings at the centre are very busy with groups, courses and appointments and reception can be busy with very limited space.

Our volunteers are busy collecting & sorting donations and restocking the shelves until 10am. The stock on the shelves is what is available, please remember EVERYTHING is donated.

The fridge is just one service of many we offer here at the centre and we ask that you help us provide this free service by being respectful of our staff, volunteers and our procedures.

It's Volunteer Week, and we'd like to shine a spotlight on the amazing people who generously give their time each week at Merchants Place.

Sarah, who dedicates her time to supporting our Community Fridge.

Carolyn, who works hard to collect donations that help keep the Community Fridge stocked and available to those who need it.

Liz and Linda, who run our popular Coffee, Cake and Company social group, creating a warm and welcoming space for people to connect and enjoy each other's company.

The Friends of Merchants Place, who tirelessly raise funds to support our work and organise community events, including our popular Craft Fairs.

And a special thank you to the Merchants Place Board of Directors, whose commitment, guidance, and support help ensure the continued success of our not for profit organisation.

We are incredibly grateful for the time, energy, and dedication of all our volunteers. Thank you for everything you do. 💙
