Our Story
We are a Community Interest Company established in Wakefield in 2009. We present professional live classical music events at local venues and provide funding for youth music across the region. Our funding is raised by a lot of hard work, mostly voluntary, at our nursery/shop Walton Herbs at Oakenshaw Lane, Wakefield.
Over the years it has been our pleasure to work with and present to audiences across Yorkshire emerging artists and established musicians of exceptional ability including jazz pianist Gwilym Simcock, The Endellion String Quartet, The Ligeti Quartet, Roller Trio, The Elysian Quartet, the vocal trio Juice, contemporary classical pianist Richard Uttley, cellist Tim Lowe. We have been proud to provide opportunities for student and recent graduate musicians from The Royal Academy of Music London, The Guildhall School of Music & Drama, London and The Royal Northern College of Music.
It has been our pleasure to collaborate and work with local music authorities, music hubs, Wakefield Jazz, The Hepworth Wakefield, Bronte Parsonage Museum Haworth, Square Chapel Halifax, Yorkshire Sculpture Park, Wakefield College, the ministry of Sandal Magna Wakefield.
Our aim has been and is to provide and enable inspiration for student musicians outside the formal learning environment, because we know the motivation to learn starts with being inspired.
