Last Sunday 30th August Lodge St Kessac were delighted to be the official sponsor of Comrie bowling club’s annual open pairs competition.

With pairs coming from all over to compete for the prestigious Euan McIntyre Quaich it was an honour for the lodge to be even just a small part of the day.

Congratulations to the winners and indeed all teams who took part, and to Comrie bowling club for putting on such a well organised event that is quickly becoming a “can’t miss” in the bowling community.

Handy thing about the opening day of Comrie Fortnight is that if you are looking for members of the various village committees, they tend to be doing the rounds!

This meant we were able to hand over the ceremonial cheque to Megan Lawson, treasurer of Comrie Kids Strings.

Every year we nominate a local charity or group, who may really benefit from our support. This year it was the kids strings from Comrie primary.

Back in June we held a music night, where all funds raised would go toward this fantastic cause. This was only made possible thanks to Jacqui and Marti of the band Nithville who performed on the evening.

Funds raised from ticket sales, raffle and a fantastic round of play your cards right, totalled a little over £600 with the members of the lodge voting unanimously to raise that amount to £700!!

Having a positive impact in the community and helping out where necessary is a huge part of why many of us at 269 joined freemasonry, if that sounds like you, then why not get in touch for a little more information on the email below or message this page.

Just a few days to go until the local children are back at school after the summer holidays.

Here’s a throw back to this years sports day before the kids finished up…..we were delighted to make our annual donation to the school which is in conjunction with the “St Kessac award” which is an English writing award given every year……..here’s to a great first term back for all the kids of our village!!!

Did you know that Lodge St Kessac was instrumental in the building of the school, laying the first ceremonial foundation stone and marching to its opening ceremony back in 1909?

The lodge had been constituted some 91 years prior with charity and benevolence as its core principles, making it a prominent and well established organisation to lend a hand where necessary…….

If you are interested in being a part of something that encourages self improvement, supports local causes and is a long established part of local history, then freemasonry could be for you.

Now that the dust has settled on another hugely successful Comrie Fortnight, here’s a throw back to the opening day where we were able to grab a very busy chairman Callum Ross to formally hand over our annual donation to our villages two weeks of fun.

A big thanks and well done to all involved at Comrie Fortnight Association, the effort that must go into two weeks of extremely well organised chaos for young and old isn’t lost on us!

Already looking forward to next year!

**OPEN DAY….ALL WELCOME**

Ever wondered what it’s like inside Comrie’s local Masonic lodge?

Curious about freemasonry?

Interested in local history?

Then come on down to Lodge St Kessac this Saturday 1st August between 11am and 5pm and have our members show you around, we will have lodge artefacts on display, including our first minute book from 1818, membership records and other items tied to local history.

The lodge bar will be open to enjoy a refreshment with friends old and new.

We are absolutely delighted to announce that we were able to raise £700 for Comrie kids strings at our music night last night.

We can’t say a big enough thank you to Marty and Jacqui of Nithville who performed for us,out of the goodness of their hearts no less, in what was a such an enjoyable two sets of music.

At the interval we had a great laugh as our very own George Carson hosted play your cards right where one lucky ticket holder won the £50 cash prize…….this was followed by an excellent raffle with a variety of winners.

Huge thanks to every single person who turned out to support the event.

occasions like this don’t happen by accident, and without the support of the community it simply isn’t possible - well done YOU!

There are still two tickets available so please get in touch asap if you would like them.

Bar these two spaces there WILL NOT be any availability on the door for admission as we have to tightly regulate our numbers to comply with fire regulations.
