This past Monday 9th march we had the pleasure of making bro. ken Hutchison St Kessac 269’s newest made master mason as we put him through his third degree.

A fantastic addition to the lodge, Ken has taken to freemasonry like a duck to water and we are all looking forward to watching as the rest of Ken’s Masonic career unfolds…..

A most enjoyable doors open day yesterday at the lodge as part of an initiative which includes all lodges operating under the Scottish constitution throughout the month of February, to open their doors to the community.

This will culminate with the Grand Lodge of Scotland itself having a doors open to the public day on the 28th of February.

We welcomed quite a few interested locals and visitors into the lodge for a guided tour as well as having on display some of the lodge artefacts, and memorabilia……the old photos of members of yesteryear in particular bringing back fond memories to those who stopped by.

This along with detailed minute books dating all the way back to our first meeting 1818 mean we might just have the most comprehensive history of the village at our disposal. It’s guaranteed that there will be somthing to peak your interests.

If you missed out this time we will still be having our annual open day as part of the Comrie fortnight in July so keep an eye out for details nearer the time.

Thank you once again to all who stopped in and made the day worthwhile ❤️🤝👍

A very successful open day for Lodge St Kessac today…..Never ceases to amaze us the people that come through the door.

Today we had visitors who had family members that were past masters of 269, we had our next door neighbours in for a visit as well as a couple from Texas who had Masonic connections…..not to mention some well Kent locals who simply fancied a refreshment or two.

We also had the pleasure of presenting a cheque for £100 to the Comrie Fortnight association, Whose efforts for the village are immeasurable.

Past master of 269 and provincial grand master of Perthshire west bro John K Bryce presented the cheque to long time fortnight committee member Dianne Hunter…. Freemasonry at its best.

A historic day yesterday as past master of 269 bro John k. Bryce was installed as the provincial grand master of Perthshire West.

John and his commissioned office bearers were installed by none other than the grand master mason of the grand lodge of Scotland in a ceremony that was a privilege to witness.

A fantastic meal thereafter in the white church followed by some traditional Masonic harmony back at lodge St Kessac ensured all our visitors a day they will not soon forget!

Congratulations once again John!

Happy birthday to the bard!

Initiated into freemasonry in July 1781 and made a master mason in October of the same year, Robert Burns is arguably the most distinguished name on the roll of Scottish freemasonry.

Robert Burns and freemasonry……….both known the world over, with their roots born in Scotland

Right Worshipful Master Donald Crerar was delighted recently to hand over a cheque for £400 to Comrie Primary School PFA.

This will be used to purchase a specialist printer and the initial materials required to start a children’s business enterprise which will give learning opportunities to all pupils in the school.

lodge St Kessac no.269 Comrie was involved in the building and opening of comrie primary way back in 1909 and the brethren consider the children who learn here to be the future of our fantastic community……money well spent we’re sure you’ll agree!
